We had the good fortune of connecting with AshNicole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi AshNicole, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to create a foundation for my children. To show them that there is more than just waking up and using your energy to build someone else’s dream. They now see their mother working and building a empire of her own, for them to carry on or follow in my foot steps. This is also a personal journey to prove that I am able to be more than just a mom I can be that and more as long as I follow the path that God has paved for ME! I’m striving to be better than my yesterday. I want to show women of different shapes and sizes that they too can be confident in their skin. To show black people that we are not what society depicts us as and that we are so much more. I just want to show greatness in all forms and make it normal across all social platforms!

What should our readers know about your business?
Being as though I have several businesses let’s start with my modeling AshNicole LLC  it’s to empower, uplift, motivate and show women of all shapes and sizes to embrace their body and love themselves!

As for my podcast She Say He Say ATL I wanted to create a platform that speaks to black men and women’s issues socially and romantically!

Circuitry Media Network is a multi media network that we created to show our black and brown community that we are powerful, resilient, successful, and We Are Rare (W.A.R) we are not the thugs, drug dealers, prostitutes, and drug addicts that main stream television depicts us as we are so much more.

I got where I am in my business by remembering that I have to listen, learn, and be willing to research whatever it is I want to be. The moment I took time to educate myself I knew the sky was the limit and there was nothing that can hold me back but myself. This was no easy task seeing as tho I hate to sit in one place for to long and I had a million things that I wanted to do. On top of that I am a mother of 5 so keeping up with the children, house, and focus on a book was a challenge in its self. I over came this by forgoing sleep and taking the time to just read, I also asked questions to those that had experience in that area. I showed up for myself and walked the walk. Some of the lessons I learned along the way were to always be willing to learn, invest in your self, invest in your business. Give opportunities to those that are better skilled in what it is your trying to accomplish.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being a new resident to the Atlanta Area I would take them to a few of my most memorable spots. The select has a beautiful atmosphere and food taste like grandma made it. I would go to the Vvs lounge and party till we drop. We would definitely visit pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen for the delicious taste of Cajun style delights. Also to the Battery where there are all kinda great things to enjoy. Piedmont has a beautiful scenery to walk and enjoy the outdoors life. Poor Calvin’s is another mouth watering favorite. There is so much that we would have to take another week to capture all the things that I haven’t experienced like the aquarium, the Coca Cola museum, candytopia and the trap museum!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I most definitely have a amazing support team with out a back bone you fall! I would love to thank my partner Michael Bailey with Circuitry Media Network for always being the voice of reason and for helping push me beyond my comfort level! Thank you to my mother and my grand mother for teaching me no matter what I want to do with hard work and determination I can be whatever It is I put my mind too. An for holding me down those long days when I was in school. Too my oldest daughter Dajia for just taking the time to be moms rider she has always been right there watching me grow as we grew together. To all the women that give me words of affirmation and are a shoulder to lean on when I’m at my lowest thanks!
