We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley White and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
My children are all adults now. But, the biggest impact besides unconditional love that I had on my children. Would be my relentless work ethic. There were times over the years as a single mother that money was tight. I always found a way to give them what they needed. It comes from hard work and a lot of juggling. Not only showing them the importance of being able to pay the bills, but also how to find that healthy balance between work and family. The impact my work ethic had on my sons has come full circle. They all have always had a job since they were able to. Now as adults, I have two college graduates, and another who is in management with a large home repair retailer. It feels good to know, that in the end, my actions had that much of an impact on them.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a hairstylist, my art is on full display. I love seeing the smile on my clients faces when they see their final transformation. Although I am talented in hair cutting and coloring. My special event styling is my true talent. I’ve been with some of my clients on their most important days. A bride about to walk down the aisle. An excited teenager going to her senior prom. An executive going to accept an award at a special ceremony for her own work talents. Creating the perfect hairstyle for that person on their special day brings me so much joy. In my health coaching, seeing that transformation is equally as exciting. Helping someone go from overweight, out of shape, exhausted, and hopeless. To healthy weight, tons of energy, and hope for the future, makes my day!
In the end with both jobs, it’s about making people happy.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Atlanta! I’m a brand new transplant! I’ve been here for 6 months now. There’s so much to do and see. Ponce City Market and the surrounding Beltline is a definitely a fun weekend activity. The shops are really cool, and the variety of restaurants are aplenty. From there I like to walk the Beltline. It’s absolutely beautiful and so much to see. I also love a good sporting event, Living in a city where I can go to professional games in baseball, basketball, football, and soccer is pretty awesome. During the summer months it’s fun to catch a concert at Chastain Park Amphitheater. Pretty big acts have shows there during the warmer months. There’s is never a lack of exciting things to do here!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents were a huge reason I was able to be so successful. I was a single mother from the time my three sons were very young. They helped so much over the years. Picking up the boys and taking them to practices. Helping with their homework. Being the emotional support we all needed. Making sure I could devote time to making my business grow over the years. I couldn’t have done it all without them.
