We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Nicole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, how does your business help the community?
My nonprofit Pledger of Hope is dedicated to serving the unhoused and less fortunate in our communities around Atlanta. We provide the basic necessities for those who are in need such as food, water, clothing, shoes, hygiene kits, and cold weather items. Pledger of Hope does numerous giveaways throughout year to let those who need help know that we are here to assist as much as possible. We are committed to bettering the lives of those needing our assistance and providing access to resources they may not normally have.

What should our readers know about your business?
Pledger of Hope Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that I founded based on my passion to help those in our communities have access to things many of us take for granted. For many years I would personally fund all of my giveaways and events for the unhoused and less fortunate because I wanted everyone to have the basic necessities in life. Funding a nonprofit is extremely challenging, and I’ve had to educate myself on fundraising and grant writing in order for Pledger of Hope to continue to support those in need. I’ve learned that it truly takes a village and I could not do all of this work on my own. I am thankful for my board members, the volunteers, friends and family that supported Pledger of Hope on this journey. I have big aspirations for the organization, I want to eventually provide resources for healthcare, job search, mental health, and housing to those who need it. Pledger of Hope is an organization dedicated to keeping hope alive when the times are tough and people want to give up. My ultimate goal is to make sure that those in our communities who are going through difficult times not only have the basic necessities, but also feel loved, feel seen, and know that they matter.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a huge lover of fast cars so we would have to do the Porsche Experience. I love to frequent the High Museum of Art, Ponce City Market, and the BeltLine. I love hiking and the outdoors so we might have to also make a quick trip to Stone Mountain. We could grab some food at Krog Street Market, Virgil’s Gullah Kitchen & Bar, Chattahoochee Food Works and brunch is a MUST. We would certainly grab some ice cream from Jeni’s as well. I would hope that there’s a game that week, Falcons, Hawks, or United so we could attend. I think the best part about Atlanta is that there is something for everyone.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to a few of my favorite people Brian Hall, Dr. Adrianne Redmond, and Krystel Pittman for all of their support. I have been on this mission for years before becoming an incorporated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and they have always been a huge support in all of my endeavors. The time, the effort, and the talents that they have donated to service our communities has been amazing and I would not have gotten this far without them. Creating and funding a nonprofit organization is incredibly challenging and with their help Pledger of Hope has been successful in creating a positive presence within our communities.
