Meet Ashley Martin | Psychotherapist, Behavior Analyst, Author, & First time Mother

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Martin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
The habits that continues to help me succeed are actively being at peace. This means having balance daily when it comes to my health, emotional state, mental, financial, and social well being. Taking time out for me allows me to maintain motivation to achieve obstacles and complete task at hand.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is my creative mind set when it comes to sharing my words and knowledge to others. I do this currently through literacy. I am a children’s author and have a youtube channel that I read storytime with books that help children to develop within their social, emotional, and cognitive developmental stages. This isn’t easy to do because there needs to be consistency. It is simple but having the sincere interest and passion to do it makes it possible for me. My educational and experience background has lead me into this direction in being a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Associate Professional Counselor, and Certified Anger Management Specialist.

Along the way I have learned to just continue to share my art even if there is a small audience because it is still helping someone. I have been doing this reading campaign on youtube for 2 years and it is called AMReaders. I also have an IG #AMReaders.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was to come visit I would have the following itinerary: Piedmont Park, Inman Park, Lenox Mall, Local Parks, Ponce City Market and for foods places like South City Kitchen, EnVegan, Pappadeaux, Fellini’s, That Burger Spot

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Most definitely! I want to give a shout out to my darling mother. She is the T in team for me. She continues to be there to help me with words of encouragement and caring for my infant daughter. She has helped me to maintain balance in my life and return back to work. My mother knows how dedicated I am and her patience allowed me to tune into my studies to prepare and pass my board examination as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst April 1, 2021. I am forever grateful.
