Meet Ashley Evangelista | Graphic Designer & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Evangelista and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I was born in Gwinnett County, Georgia. I was born to a Dominican father and a Dominican mother. My upbringing has had a huge impact on who I am and how I carry myself. From abuse, battling addictions in my past & the ongoing loss of myself. Having to manage all aspects of life on my own from a young age has taught me to cope with many things that people would find impossible. .

My therapist has been a huge influence on my life over the years, helping me to discover myself and fulfill my passion for creativity. i’ve always been fond of art that’s what’s gotten me through most of my life, my parents did not support and cultivate my interests much growing up which took a toll on me .. but I’m glad that I now have the ability to tap back into my inner child and support myself more than ever.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m a graphic designer, but I like to refer to myself as a brand stylist because I wear a lot of hats. I bring people’s brands to life with my creative mind and thinking. I believe that my personality distinguishes me and helps my customers gravitate towards me and feel more open to communicating their wants and needs; I’m always looking for ways to improve things for myself and my clients. I like to make our working process simple and enjoyable! Premade graphics were the first thing I did as a brand stylist. I wanted people to know that they didn’t need a lot of money to start a business or revamp an existing one, so I created templates that were affordable and simple to use. That’s how my business grew, and I became known for creating affordable versatile premade templates for business owners.
Was it simple? No, but with your mind, drive, and discipline, you can achieve anything.
Kashgraphix is not my first or last business. I’ve learned a lot as an entrepreneur. My father was a hardworking entrepreneur who taught me to never give up, that any obstacle can be overcome, and to always move forward. I don’t dwell on obstacles or difficult moments; instead, I ground myself and consider how I can use this as a learning experience and move forward.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I believe that everyone I have come across deserves a shout out because everyone in my life has made up who I am, but I want to give the biggest shout out to my closest friends,the ones that have stayed down with me through my toughest times and seen the potential in me when I couldn’t;
