We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley De La Mode and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to start something independently where I can use my skills and character.. I wanted to create enough leverage resources to be able to support people internationally.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I wanted to create a talk show platform where I can give people and their communities the opportunities to share their stories I started with working as a makeup artist for chemotherapy patients and anyone who was suffering from a condition to uplift them mentally and physicality through makeup. However as they say on the way to the dream you find another dream. I ended up working as journalist with celebrities on various projects that kept talking me further away from my talk show. I adapted with wherever my skills took me.
I realised that I was good with people and my skills and experiences have trained me to work extremely well in public relations where I am able to go the extra mile.
I now have created a PR firm where I hire PR agents to work internationally and train them in being the best in an industry where character defines more than status.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I actively work in Paris London New York ATL and LA. I have to say that I love all of these cities. In Paris I would definitely take someone for a coffee by the Eiffel Tower. In London I’ve created a cafe called De La Mode Cafe I’ve designed it with everything that I love and made it aesthetically convenient. I would host anyone there and give them the best experience.
In New York my favourite place is anywhere in Manhattan just seeing the lights and how awake everything is motivates me.
Atlanta makes me feel relaxed I love the restaurants in Atlanta
LA is definitely the slowest out of all the cities. In an industry where everything is so fast is nice to be in a slower environment I would recommend anyone to spend at least a few days in LA.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I met so many interesting supporting people along my journey. I am grateful to all of them I appreciate any type of support they have given me on my journey.
