We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Bhagwandat-Sanger and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is, first, God and second, integrity. Without the guidance of the Lord, I don’t think my business would be as successful as it is today. With wisdom and discernment, I feel I have made all the right decisions that have made it possible to do what I do. Secondly, my integrity on how I run and keep my business flourishing has given me great success. I stick to my guns, all while giving my clients the BEST. How do I know this works? Because my clients keep coming back and they have show a tremendous amount of loyalty! They appreciate my morals and my work ethic and it shows in my work.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a licensed esthetician working in the Hiram area. I have been in the industry for 5 years! I feel like what sets me apart is my ability to really hear the clients concern and meet their need to the T. Also, because bare skin is the new trend I have noticed an increase in clients trusting me with their skin as well as their interest with the “natural look” when it comes to eyebrows, makeup, lashes etc. It all started back in 2015 when I started getting facials and seeing amazing results with finding an esthetician I can trust and being consistent with my home regimen. I remember the day clearly; I came in for my appointment and my esthetician gasped with excitement at the site of my skin as well as how I self confidant I was because my skin was clearing up. I suffered from hyperpigmentation from my pregnancy and I needed all the help to get my skin back to how it used to be. My boyfriend at the time now husband Robert suggested I should look into going to school since I showed such an interest for it. I then registered for school and began my journey. It has not always been smooth because my daughter was about 4 or 5 at the time, I was a single mom at the time and I had to make sure she was in school and I was on time to get in the hours I needed to pass. It may not seem like much of a struggle, but when time is on the line you have to make sacrifices and do what you have to do. I also feel like building clientele can be hard sometimes because you have keep up with the trend. Stay relevant, be creative and innovative. Also being in such a big state where there are a lot of talented women in the industry and be discouraging but remembering that we are all in it to win it and have our own uniqueness keeps me going.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would most likely take them to the mountains and get a cabin lol. Just knowing us, we really love to be inside and unwind and just get away and relax. Knowing us, we would probably do some groceries and just cook and enjoy our time away from the outside world.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband, my daughter, family and friends! They are my greatest support system. They are honest and they give me great advice to help my business. They also step in when I need them most, wether it is something financially or documentation , they are one phone call away.
