We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Austin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process for starting my own business was to create generational wealth for my family.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
These last 13 years baking have not been easy. I’ve wanted to give up and never pick up another baking pan again, but I’ve always found the will to keep pressing. Prayer has been my foundation for my business. I always ask God to anoint my hands as I prepare to bake.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my best friend to eat at this dope African cuisine spot in Norcross. It’s called Ike’s Cafe and Grill! We would most definitely have to go Kobe’s Japanese Steakhouse one night. We would go tour the Martin Luther King Civil Rights Museum and stop by the Aquarium! We would have brunch at Fin and Feathers and wrap up the trip with a church service at New Birth to hear Pastor Jamal Bryant preach and Tiffany Boone and JaNaé Jones sing!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shout out to my children, Aniyah and Ayanah. They keep me grounded and keep me going!
