We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Allen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Honestly myself, I wanted a product that help heals and moisturize my lips without having to constantly keep applying the product and I wasn’t finding that in the stores so I came to a conclusion to make my own. I discussed it with my partner and he thought it was a great idea so I went online that same day and did some research. I believe in enhancing beauties beauty and that’s what we are doing at Lux Lips by Beautie.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Ashley Allen “Owner” (myself) is currently working in the security industry. I got into security once I left Ford Motor Company due to certain injuries and honestly I can’t complain about the journey I had so far working in security. I have moved up within the company in under a year and I can say it’s interesting learning and dealing with certain things on the job. I am working on getting my brand “Lux Lips” to a point where I don’t have to work for anyone anymore but security is helping build the upcoming empire. Ray Bishop “Co-Owner” is currently working in the production field with Ford Motor Company and let’s just say he’s ready for a new adventure as well.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well living in Chicago, Il is a very interesting adventure in itself lmao. But, I would definitely take them downtown #1 place to have fun and enjoy the city. I believe our city has one of the best skylines in the world.

go to Garrett’s Popcorn (try our Chicago Mix Carmel & Cheese)
go to Navy Pier
go Buckingham Fountain (believe at night when its lit in the summer)

go to some of our rooftop restaurants or even visit our Signature Room that’s on the 95th floor
go to Giordano’s
go to our Zoos maybe (Lincoln Park or Brookfield)
go shopping on Michigan Ave
go to Shed Aquarium, Field Museum & Adler Planetarium

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
