Hi Ashleigh, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
Hiring a coach and elevating my circle. I am all about expediting the time it takes to achieve a goal where I can.

If someone has been where I am, moved through it successfully, and is where I want to go then it’s a no brainer to hire them so that I can get to my goals.

The single most important thing you can do for your growth and the growth of your business is elevate the people around you and create a support system of other entrepreneurs.

We think differently. You can’t share that you made $100,000 in a month with everyone and you also can’t share that you “only” made $40,000 in a quarter with people whose salaries fall within that.

People start businesses and don’t elevate the people around them and wonder why they aren’t moving fast enough or at all.

When you share that you have a goal to make $80,000 in a month the ONLY thing the person you’re talking to should say is “how can I help?” and/or “You got this!”.

Your friends and family aren’t your retirement plan, but the network you build can help you retire as a multimillionaire.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the CEO and Marketing Genie of Make Your Mark, a digital marketing agency that scales impact-driven women-owned & led businesses by automating your visibility with ads and automated sales systems. So that they can live the lives that they envisioned their businesses could provide for them.

I am extremely proud that my clients and customers make a significant impact around the globe.

I am able to ‘make my mark’ by expanding the reach and territory of my clients. It is so beautiful to know that your God-given talents can be so impactful

Though getting here wasn’t a cake walk it was absolutely worth it.

The main challenges that business owners must overcome, to see the growth and realize their goals, is less about skills and more about the inner work and continued personal growth.

Letting go of the limiting beliefs, the past traumas, overcoming triggers, and feelings or behaviours of lack can only propel us forward.

Doing that work is what’s allowing me to soar, see more growth, and achieve my goals.

The other reason my company, Make Your Mark, has been able to grow is because we actually care about our clients, we work hard for them and don’t stop until we achieve next level success.

Integrity flows within everything that we do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So because I love to travel I have to answer this in a way that is most fitting! My favourite places in my favourite cities

In Rome we gotta get Granita and brioche at Dolci Di Nonna Vincenza.

The best Danish in the world come from Andersen Bakery in Copenhagen.

In Instanbul, Turkey we are satisfying our sweet tooth the the most divine Baklava ever made at Karaköy Güllüoğlu.

We can go get a bougie drink with a view at Jimmy at the James in Manhattan.

In Houston we’re definitely going to Tiny Boxwoods for a cute lunch, a beautiful flower bouquet, and the best cookies on the planet.

Then best breakfast at Cucina 35 and late night tacos at Taco El Gordo in San Diego.

I could go on but we would be here forever.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom always told me that I could do and be anything I wanted. When obstacles arose for me she always helped me think critically and find a way to solve my problem. There were never any excuses accepted, only action steps.

There are two  professors that I admired and they became my mentors throughout college and my career. They were the most impactful were Amy Vandaveer and David Cook in the #1 Sales and #1 Entrepreneurship programs in the nation respectively.

I was blessed with managers in my career who wanted to see me win and gave me glowing recommendations; Wally Potts, Linda Parsons, & Ricky Farley.

The main experience that solidified that I could have the life I wanted was travelling. I studied abroad in Italy in undergrad and then got my IMBA in Italy a couple of years later.

Living abroad for almost 2 years and travelling to 35 countries allowed me to see that life could be what I wanted and that I had options to create a life that aligned with my values, goals, vision, and spirit.
