Meet Ashlei White | Corporate Mom, Podcaster & Speaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashlei White and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashlei, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
As a working mother my work/life balance has changed a lot over the last year. I strive to not over work myself to the point I have no energy for life and family. I have created structure in my life to where I’ve set up boundaries such as logging off from work at 5pm instead of late in the evening. I used to pressure myself to being perfect at work and giving my job my all but I quickly realized once I had my son that it’s not that serious and work will be there on the next day. I am fortunate to have joined a company where I can work remotely and management that respects my personal time. If you’re working in the corporate space it’s important to find a company with great company culture who believe in not overworking their employees. I’m enjoying this new found balance in my life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
By profession, I am a Diversity Recruiting Consultant and a serial side entrepreneur by trade. As a new mother and millennial it was and still remains important for me to not lose myself in motherhood, which is what led to my newest business venture The Bawse Mom Movement. I saw a need to exploit millennial mothers for keeping motherhood their priority in addition to celebrating their professional success as business women and or entrepreneurs. It’s not easy to do what we do but we’re doing it effortlessly. I have struggled with finding structure as a working mom but I am finding ways to overcome the struggle daily. I have learned to set boundaries, delegate and ask for help when needed. My willingness to help others, my dedication and simply being me is what sets me a part from others. I want to use my experience and voice to coach other corporate moms in their ability to grow their careers and encourage professional moms who want to start businesses on the side to go for it. Being a Bawse Mom is a lifestyle that I will continue to push and celebrate.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As a Stone Mountain native (Atlanta Suburb) I’ve seen the city change so much from events, nightlife and just overall places to be. If my best friend were to visit Atlanta for a week, I would have places that we would have to see such as:
Eat:
8 Sushi or OSHA Sushi
Yard house
Ponce City Market
The Bucket Shop (the best fried shrimp tacos)
Shopping:
Buckhead Village (nice restaurants as well)
Phipps/Lenox Square
Hang Out:
The Battery
Atlanta station
Any lounge with hookah!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my son Rylei Delaney
