We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashlei Griffin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashlei, how do you think about risk?
Real Estate is entirely all about taking risks especially not knowing when your next commission check is going to come. This career is completely voluntary and it is up to you to give it your all. Before I started studying for my license I spent a lot of time self developing myself and shifting my mindset because I knew I was getting ready to do something big by taking a leap of faith. I grew up with the mindset of getting a good job and retiring at 50-60 years old to receive a pension. I knew there was another way to reach wealth without giving up my time. I tell everyone who is thinking about a career in Real Estate is consider what you will bring to the industry. Most people fear they won’t be successful their first year or there are too many Realtors in their market and wonder how they will stand out. I think for me I came in with the mindset that Real Estate is a knowledge based industry and not entirely focused on experience, especially if you are a new Agent. As a new Agent, you want to learn everything your first year, network, take classes and attend as many trainings as possible. The more you know always ensure that you share the information with others. This sets you a part from your competition and allows you to become the “Industry Expert” to your audience only. This was the best advice that I have received from a Real Estate veteran, The best part about being a new agent is that you have the MOST time. Time to focus on your client and how you can help them as much as possible. I think no one thinks about this when first starting out which is why it deters some from entering in our industry along with the fear of failing and losing their income.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My name is Ashlei Griffin and I am a Georgia Real Estate Professional. Originally from Detroit, MI. From the time I was a child I always knew that I wanted catapult into something life changing and break barriers for my family and generations to come. I’ve spent the majority of my upbringing trying to find ways to stand out from the crowd and really be “God’s Favorite” . The conversation of ownership, generational wealth, and investments was not very common in my household nor within the members of my family. As I finished high school and started learning about the value of Real Estate, I decided I wanted to pursue a full-time career in Real Estate once I completed college. This was a very hard pill to swallow for some of those who were around me at the time and still to this day. However, I learned that in life you will never please everyone as some people will place their fears on you because they never did anything great themselves. This is one of many examples of how I’ve overcome challenges to make it where I am today. It was always taking leaps of faith and Trusting in God’s plan for my life. My Real Estate brand is built with a foundation and the mindset of millennials and Generation Z as we bring innovative and modern living to the world by reshaping the way to live the life of luxury through technology and convenience.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta is such a thriving city as there is so many places to choose from. Most of my friends love to try new things and are extremely in tune with only doing things that best serve them. For a week long Trip, Monday- I would first start off with nice brunch at Breakfast at Barneys restaurant which offers trendy and stylish soul food dining. Next we would spend the rest of the day relaxing at the Luxurious Whitley Hotel located in Buck head. For Breakfast any day you can opt for the Atlanta Breakfast Club. Tuesday- I would tour our Georgia Aquarium or the Coca Cola Museum and enjoy the night in Centennial Park to experience the Skyview Atlanta. Wednesday- I would do something fun and adventurous like a bike trail along the Beltline, Ziplining or 6Flags Amusement park and end the night with Dinner at Houstons or a Soul food Cuisine. Thursday- will be a day of shopping at Phipps plaza or Perimeter mall, nails and hair! Friday- Of course I would end with a season open Basket ball game to see the Atlanta hawks or live concert at the State Farm arena!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would to love to give BIG credit to my mom and dad, eldest brother and grandparents for always supporting my vision in becoming a Real Estate Professional. Praying for me during some of my complex moments and helping to shape me into the powerful and driven woman that I am today that continues to evolve into so much greater.
