We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashlee Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashlee, what role has risk played in your life or career?
When it comes to risk taking I believe you have to let go of the fear ,doubt and thoughts in your mind if you will succeed in the risk your taking you truly have to step out your comfort level . For me in my career & life I have always been a risk taker in things I believe in I have that anxious ambition that I can accomplish any goal I put my time and effort in doing.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business provides non – medical in home care services to Elderly, Adults with disabilities, children with medically complex needs for non medical assistance in there homes. What sets my business apart from others I am very hands on in all aspects of the business from administration, billing and coding , accounting , over seeing home health aides schedules , meetings , marketing . I also lead my team for growth and keep them in positive energy. I send out daily bible verses and prayers to my staff each morning 5am , I listen to there needs for growth within the company, education goals or for the families they provide care and take action to there needs. I feel you lead people right , appreciate and genuinely connect with people you not only grow them but they grow your brand in a positive way . Honestly I got where I am at today by being authentic , treating every family that receive care from us exactly like family from Open communication , going into each home to being transparent to there worlds , getting to know them for them and how I can add to who they truly are no matter what . Match making people to fit not only just for care needs but personality traits which are big to me, when your connected to people that you have some common things , it allows you to be you fully . No it was not easy at all I started growing my business fully when I loss my job in 2017 , that was no easy road one I was lacking a lot on my self that I had to overcome obstacles, struggling bad with finances and systems , no workers and I could not afford to hire so at first I felt stuck , until I started saying I will work my way up my self so I did everything work families day in and out , assisting with all needs , cleaning houses what ever needed to be done I was going to do . But that still wasn’t a break because I was working so hard but left with nothing after trying to keep the over head covered. I walked that journey for 2-3 years . Until September 2019 that’s when I started seeing shifts in the business . I remember being in my room one day on my knees I cried out I ask God if this is what he called me to and if this passion of mine I had for so long was still there to show me a sign some kind of break though because I was exhausted ready to give the business up . The lessons I learned is always keep your faith & mind focus on your destination no matter how rocky the road looks . I want the world to know that if you desire to do anything that your gifted or passionate to do go for it don’t let nothing discourage you and go through your process journey to reach your true potential. Get use to being uncomfortable and stretched it’s all going to be for good .
