We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashlee Keeney and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashlee, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I have always had an artistic side to my personality. When I was younger, I would draw and paint as an outlet for my creativity but as I grew older, I looked for new ways to express myself. When I first picked up a camera, it was more for experimenting with new mediums, but I immediately fell in love with the freedom it offered me. Drawing and painting are fulfilling in their own right, but the instant gratification a snapshot offers is immeasurable. While the process of getting to where I am today has been a long road, I wouldn’t change a thing. Expressing who you are through what you create makes all of the hardship worth it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
This was deff not easy where I’m today , I always push myself to learn new things and always think “ hey look I could have did something differently “ so I learn I’m not going to be perfect . We all can grow as photographers ! I’m most proud of how and why I picked up a camera to tell story’s with my work and the biggest thing MY STORY ! Biggest lesson I have learned is never compare yourself let it inspire you !
My brand my story I want the world to know is NEVER GIVE UP !

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Long week in Pittsburgh! Well first I would take her to a cute place called mediterranean café , then we would drive threw the tunnels to the city !
Head to all the museums here ( mattress factory, Andy Warhol’s etc )
Then grab lunch downtown at this place called (chicken )
Then off to walk around the city !
After that dinner on a roof top called (Over eden )
Over the next few days I would take her to Lawrenceville area !
A late night casino trip !
Also hit up some outside hiking over at McConnells mills !
And a beautiful green house called the Phipps !

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to dedicate my shout out too everyone feeling alone every person who is struggling YOUR NOT ALONE. We all have dark places sometimes but please reach out to someone or even me my dms are always open !
