We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashantae Burden and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashantae, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
Great Question! I would say for me the end goal is to connect and bring awareness to anyone who is dealing with psoriasis. In our African American community it is not talked about, often times the commercials are not informative. I feel like it is my personal duty to talk and educate our community. I can help someone even if it is just bringing information and natural products that help, I feel that is my goal. Professionally by the end of the year I would love to have psoriasis support groups, free tip Tuesdays where i give free tips and do free product raffles. Im also aiming to start a support group for any teen, child , parent or anyone struggling with any type of insecurity from having eczema psoriasis . I know how it feels and I can definitely relate. Helping other’s is my duty and may the work I’ve done speak for me. We are all blessed with different testimonies and this is my story and Im ready to conquer the world &help everyone going threw the same thing.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the proud owner of New Image Skin Solution’s. I had psoriasis since I was 12 and I am currently 30 years old living with psoriasis. I was destined to find natural products that would help control skin inflammations. What sets me apart from other business, is I will share any personal tips or suggest certain things without looking for anything in return. If my day consists of answering questions or empowering people , I feel like my day is complete. I just wanna tell my testimony so someone may find comfort or relief. I am most proud of the fact I actually am doing what I dreamed off. I once was shy and scared to tell my story but it is A beautiful thing to witness! It has not been easy some days I feel like I’m not doing enough? But I know in due time everything will come together. Seeing people from different parts of the country acknowledged my courage gives me hope and keeps me going. The lessons I learned along the way is nothing is perfect, love yourself you only get one you! And always take it one day at a time. I would like the world to know that its okay to be different , it’s okay to find the beauty in things we feel may be too much for us, you never know who needs to hear your story..

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Great I would definitely take her to Halls Chophouse in Nexton Summerville, south Carolina. They have A really great live band as well as superb food. Some of the things I enjoy doing in my free time, is walking on riverfront in the early morning. Also shop at Tanger Outlet mall different stores and selections to choose from.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Honestly I would first and foremost give A special shot out to my wonderful Kids , Latrell smalls, A’myah smalls, Camden smalls, &Chace Warthaw! They are the reason I feel so strongly about telling my story. They help motivate me and make me feel like no matter what they are proud of me! My kids also help along side me packing orders and making sure I have everything correct. The psoriasis support group I am currently in also plays a part invite telling my story! Im beyond grateful for this experience and I’m ready to tell my story and spread awareness.
