Hi Ar’Riel, can you tell us about a book that has had a meaningful impact on you?
I recently read a book called The Four Agreements, its a guide to personal freedom, true happiness and selflove. I love this book I actually read it twice! When I say this is a MUST read its a MUST! It has truly helped me in many ways, I try my best to incorporate these four agreements into my everyday life. The four agreements are 1. Be Impeccable with your word 2. Don’t take anything personally 3. Don’t make assumptions and 4. Always do your best. I believe everyone should live life by these four agreements. It changes your perspective on life and how you treat yourself and others, and how to handle everyday life lessons. Before reading this book I use to take everything personal, have self doubt and make assumptions about anything, I drove myself crazy living that way. Now I have so much more peace, confidence in knowing I did my best and joy by just following these four agreements. No one is perfect so remember you can always start again the next day if you didn’t follow an agreement until you master the four agreements.

What should our readers know about your business?
I knew my name would be out there in the world some day… As I said before I’m destined for greatness ! Before I started Ar’Unique my goal was to brand myself! I knew I wanted to have something that represents me, what I stand for and who I am as a person and I’ve been vegetarian /vegan for almost 3 years now. I take pride in my beliefs and what I stand for. Ar’Unique is just that ! it steams from my first name Ar’Riel and “unique “. I’ve always been different and unique in my own way. I march to the beat of my own drum! Lol! No it’s not easy and if anyone says other wise it’s not true ! But it’s a beautiful process! This has been a long journey to start my business, in fact this is actually my second time launching. When I first started in 2020 I had a different name “Flirty Lips” I handcrafted vegan lip gloss , lip scrub , lip oil , and lip balm. I had quite a few hiccups with my logo, packaging, labels and etc and I just wasn’t happy with certain things because I knew I could do better! but I was Thankful for all the support I received and selling out of all my products! Shoutout to my org. Flirty Babes lol I kept going. Yes it was days where I wanted to give up and days where no one would buy stuff sometimes weeks went by without a sale. I didn’t let it get to me and I wasn’t giving up ! I got better with time and being consistent. Once I saw the growth , and received feedback from not only customers , but men who wanted to purchase my products as well. I told myself it was time to go back to the drawing board. That’s when I came up with Ar’Unique and adding more products; such as beard and face oil for men , whipped body butter , sugar body scrubs , soap and more for men and women. This is not for the weak you have to be a strong person and ok with not always being able to reach certain goals in a certain time frame. It takes trial and error , long nights , dedication, consistency, and it’s fun to be honest. You have to love and be passionate about your work,, your art, it represents you! I want the world to know that you don’t have to be perfect , or have it all figured it out at a certain age or time frame. Be patient with yourself, and most of all REAL about how things can go! it’s gonna be great times and challenging times. You’re unique in your own way you’re a journey your story is written for you no one else can write it. Ar’Unique means (You Are Unique) and my main goal is to provide people healthy , natural , non-toxic products for the skin so they can look and feel good at all times and also to uplift you! If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Lol well one I’m vegan so we going to all the vegan spots in ATL! The West End is a great area for vegans ! no but we definitely will have to go to vegan friendly spots. Some rooftop lounges . Edgewood is a dope area , Ponce city Market , pretty much anything in Atlanta it’s a not a boring place to live it’s ALWAYS something to do! I don’t have any favorite spots I like to try something new and TikTok helps a lot! i love bowling , staking , house gatherings , I’m not the club type tbh it’s old to me. I only go for special occasions. But when people come to Atlanta they always want to go to Lenox mall and strip clubs

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Always God first; without him nothing is possible and my mother Dionne ! She is my ROCK , my biggest supporter in everything I do. She’s always showed me what unconditional love and support is and its truly a blessing. My mother taught me what it means to be independent, a hustler , to always be myself , to do what makes me happy, be confident , and what hard work looks like. The woman I am today I owe that to her ! She’s believed in me and my dreams since I was a little girl and that I was destined for greatness! Even on my worst days my mom taught me to keep going ,to be strong and not to give up on myself because greatness is within me.
