We had the good fortune of connecting with Arriel Biggs and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Arriel, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
As a parent introducing the concept of entrepreneurship to my kids during their early years in elementary school has had a significant impact on their self-perception, work ethic and money management skills. My son, Mikey, started Mikey’s Munchies Vending at the age of 7 and authored his first book, “Mikey Learns About Business,” at 9. Meanwhile, my daughter, AJ, began her Cupcake business at 5 and co-wrote her first book, “Pink Cupcakes For A Cause,” at 9. It wasn’t just about starting businesses; it was about fostering an entrepreneurial mindset. I aimed to instill in them the belief that they could achieve anything, irrespective of their background, race, or status. The fundamental message was that they possess greatness within them, and with the right mindset, the possibilities are limitless. Today, I take pride in being the mom of two young, accomplished authors and business owners.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am Arriel Biggs, the visionary behind Young Biz Kidz, a nonprofit organization committed to nurturing financial literacy and entrepreneurship among young individuals. As the founder and executive director, my passion lies in empowering youth by instilling smart money habits through the avenue of entrepreneurship.

What makes Young Biz Kidz stand out is our holistic approach. Beyond financial literacy, I understand that entrepreneurship imparts crucial life skills such as effective communication, personal responsibility, and problem-solving. This comprehensive method contributes to the development of self-esteem and robust relationships, positioning entrepreneurship as a valuable resource economically, academically, and socially.

My journey began with a focus on educating youngsters, but it evolved to include guidance for parents in nurturing their children’s entrepreneurial spirit. I now provide services designed to educate, empower, and equip parents, fostering their self-confidence to support their budding Biz Kid.

Wearing multiple hats as a mentor, child advocate, parent advisor, and public speaker, I have garnered accolades for my journey as a woman entrepreneur. I am sought after to share my insights at local, national, and international levels. Elevating my role to “Mom Boss,” I extend my influence to empower moms and families, inspiring them to take charge and become the bosses of their own lives.

Not only am I the driving force behind Young Biz Kidz, but I am also the author of the groundbreaking book, “Mom Boss.” This masterclass in business savvy is crafted for mothers aspiring to transform their entrepreneurial dreams into profitable realities. As an award-winning brand and business strategist, motivational speaker, and nonprofit founder, I have played a pivotal role in catapulting numerous clients to entrepreneurial success.

With a wealth of experience and a proven track record, I serve as the dream champion every mom needs by her side. My refreshingly relatable advice and razor-sharp strategies make me an invaluable resource for mothers navigating the challenging yet rewarding journey of entrepreneurship. Beyond my role as a nonprofit leader, my influence extends to empowering moms and families, positioning me as a beacon of inspiration in both the business and parenting realms. Additionally, I have been featured on Nickelodeon, PBS, and Good Morning America, showcasing the impact of my work on a wider audience.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a total homebody at heart, but when it comes to spending time with the kids, we’re all about exploring! Our favorite spots include the World of Coca-Cola and the Georgia Aquarium. And of course, no outing is complete without grabbing a refreshing Arnold Palmer. It’s the perfect blend of homey comfort. We would mostly hang out at my home and catch up on life happenings. Mostly like our kids would be with us.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This shoutout is to my husband, James Biggs, my superhero and biggest cheerleader. He believed in me when I doubted myself, staying up through late nights to hear about my over-the-top ideas. When we couldn’t afford plane tickets, my husband ensured I didn’t miss out on conferences by taking me on road trips to make sure I had the chance to be in the right rooms to grow and develop. His ability to demonstrate incredible patience throughout the process has been my biggest motivation to keep going. Lastly, when I battled breast cancer during my entrepreneurial journey, James stood ten toes down, fighting for my life alongside me. I can’t have a shoutout without shouting out my Young Biz Kidz family. We’re a strong community of kids entrepreneurs and their families, spread across 8 states. What makes it even more special is that in each state, we have an African American young lead ambassador running their own business and making a positive impact in their communities. These incredible individuals saw the vision and hopped on this train, and there’s no stopping us anytime soon.
