We had the good fortune of connecting with Arletha Orr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Arletha, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I worked in corporate America and I was an event planner for 15 years. In 2016, my husband and 2 children were killed in an accident and that changed my life forever. From there, I knew I was graced to help others get through their grief journey so I became a Certified Grief Coach. I take joy in knowing I can give someone else hope.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m a Certified Grief Coach but also an Author & Publisher.

As a Coach & Author, I take joy in hearing others stories and helping them overcome depression, anxiety, regaining their joy. I know that grief doesn’t last forever and I’m grateful to share my story and testimony with others. As I travel, I get to meet new people and help them in different ways.

As a Publisher, I get to help others share their story with the world. There are so many overcomers and more need to hear their story of how they overcame so that we can help others.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love chicken and you can’t go wrong with chicken, lol. I will take them to Zea Rotisserie & Bar. There’s something on the menu for everyone. Also, we will visit Two Mississippi Museums. It shows a great deal of culture and history. We may do a little shopping at the outlet mall in Pearl and end the day with ice cream from Bop’s.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
No human, I will say God. He’s my superior being. He gives me daily strength to get up with a smile on my face and share with other.
