We had the good fortune of connecting with Ari Rozario and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ari, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
The decision of being consistent
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I was young, I always had a sketchbook. It was something that I couldn’t be without. Over the years, my sketchbooks only began to pile. I thought, “there has to be something I can do with all these ideas.” I knew my curiosity went far beyond art class, but even I couldn’t see the bigger picture yet. As my vision grew, so did my canvas. When I sold my first piece of art, I was $100 short on my college tuition. That moment was like a chain reaction. I knew I had something.
I’m proud to say that I have continued to invest in myself and my craft over the years. The growth of the business is more than noticeable. I think my plans will set me apart from other artists and grasp the attention of those who have yet to discover my work.
No, I wouldn’t say it has been easy, but still a great accomplishment. With art itself, there are no “mistakes” in the creative process because someone still appreciates it. The learning curve is the business aspect because you learn about your customers and how to reach them. There’s trial and error in the area of business. The main thing is not to quit.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was in town we would catch some games. I always enjoy going to Braves & Hawks games. But I go to Harold’s Chicken before the games. There are several rooftops bars that are perfect for a great evening. I love seeing the skyline. Atlanta has a lot to offer, it really depends on the day.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout out Republic Social House, I sold my first painting there. It was a cool experience.
