We had the good fortune of connecting with Ari A. Bradley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ari, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
A driven artist’s most valuable asset is not their talent, but the mind that got them working. My mission with Ari Bradley Studios, through providing headshot services for Atlanta’s actors & business students, is for the world to feel their core. To see every part (inside and out) of a person all at once is simply unthinkable, but possible with the right photographer. I capture their essence beyond color, size, or shape for the beliefs and nuances that make them brilliant. My company takes a natural, academic approach with clients so that they can not only be seen, but want to perfect their craft.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started out in visual arts and stuck with it before dabbling in film and photography. Doing large-scale, original acrylic paintings and pencil works up until high school graduation gave me excitement; I felt that I could accomplish something bigger than myself with those mediums and even found a soft-spot for graphic design through years of creating. My relationship with a camera started in high school with an A/V Tech elective the kids thought was so cruel, but I loved film and the rest was history. Between then and now, I’ve produced films for the RCA (Rockdale Career Academy) Film Festival and the Georgia State University Film Festival using my knowledge of politics and culture which presented a risk, but I became somewhat of a journalist. When I came to GSU, I was steeped in thousands of legendary communities including the career creatives with dynamic skills and a determination to make it big in Atlanta. I got serious about photography in my free time between college classes, serious enough to strike out on my own in the spring of 2023 as an after graduation plan.
What sets me apart is an unbeatable work-ethic and a focus on education through art rather than helping to produce pure entertainment (still awesome). Many photographers lose their “why” when they work to eat and I operate with intent behind every kind decision.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Cabbagetown, the Forward, Warrior!! Mural Project on Wylie Street, and Krog Street Tunnel have a powerful art scene that every tourist and local cannot miss on their adventure. Maggiano’s is the best dining experience with top tier Italian cuisine, live music, and a rich energy great for lunch. After, I recommend a visit to the College Football Hall of Fame to honor many great athletes. For dinner, the Sun Dial restaurant and bar is a great destination to settle down and study the breathtaking achievements of Andy Young and the business elites. These are only a handful of Atlanta thrills on my list.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Great folks that continue to motivate me are my film buddies for cosigning on my dreams, immediate family for wisdom and gas spent, Auntie Tammy for her constant hype, Adam Bihi for his ambition, the dedicated professors at Georgia State University for guidance, my faith community for prayers, and God for the vision.
