We had the good fortune of connecting with April Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi April, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My idea for Kraze Boutique came from my love for fashion. I’ve always loved fashion and wanted to have my own boutique. After being in the medical field for over 10 years, one day I decided I wanted to do what really makes me happy. So I started doing my research and 2 years later I’m the owner of my very own boutique and loving it.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Kraze is inspired by original and simple pieces that can be paired with unique designer pieces that can be worn beyond seasonal trends. At Kraze our goal is to bring you simplicity and a unique wardrobe style that can be paired with innovative pieces that come together to form transitional pieces for your wardrobe.
What sets us apart from most boutiques is that our customers is our top priority. Providing great customer service is what’ keeps our customers happy and the boutique a success. It’s not about the money, we take pride in providing good quality clothing.
Lessons I have learned as an entrepreneur, is that there will be bumps in the road along the way. Growth takes time, you can’t rush the process, it’s all about timing. When it’s your time it will happen. Just put in the hard work and success will come because success doesn’t happen overnight.
I’m proud of how I’ve grown as a business owner. When you see Kraze Boutique you see me, because I do my own makeup, hair, I’m the model, the customer service rep, the photographer and etc. I’m just excited to see where Kraze Boutique will be in the next ten years.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, all praise goes to God, secondly my partner (Frederick Grayer) for always believing in me, pushing me to work harder and go after my dream. My mom (Barbara Johnson) for molding me into the woman I am today, my son (Jamarion Harris) for being such an amazing photographer. I would like to thank my family, friends, and especially my customers because without them Kraze Boutique would not be a successful business.
