We had the good fortune of connecting with Anwar Molette and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anwar, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
“Starting my own business was all about vision, I had a vision of where I wanted to take my career as a culinary professional and how I wanted to present it or offer it to others who had a need for my vision, which was great food and hospitality offered in a way that made people have value placed on their hard earned money in return for having reputable services and professionalism delivered as a trade-off for their return business and eagerness to just enjoy great family and good times, while also being able to see that in my products and services that they would have a brand that they could pass on to family and friends who they too could also go to and depend on with consistency and great value for a life time”.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am the “Executive Chef” and CEO of “Affextionate Cuizine Catering”, I have had my ups and downs, struggles and battles, as a minority black owned business I definitely can say it has had many challenges, but on the other hand it is what has driven my successful talent, I am truly a people person full of love, joy, and cheerful vibes. When I started my business I was so passionate about reaching out to others and bringing them together, I have that energy that will definitely set me apart, when things are somewhat off, I continue to stay optimistic about it all because faith is hope and hope is blessings, I refuse to live a negative life and have the negative impact on the people around me I am “Mr Hospitality” in every since of its meaning because, I believe in doing good by others and spreading a contagious energy that will leave a bright ray of light on any and every one!!!!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am really a peaceful person, I enjoy time just reflecting on life itself, lol ,so my friends definitely would know we would book us a nice cabin in the “Georgia Mountains” and have a week long retreat just eating great food and talking about our lives and where we want to be in the near future, lots of good movies, fish fry’s, brunches, and camp fires filled with great conversations about the paths of life it’s adversities, and guiding lights that we will travel to reach new heights in our careers, family life, and transitions into the next life.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and from the beginning all thanks is to “Allah The Almighty God” who blessed me with the skill and devotion to accomplish whatever you see great in me, He has placed numerous people in my life to guide me along the way from my loving parents, my family and friends who supported me when I couldn’t support myself, to dedicated culinary instructors, and mentors who help me obtain my degree in culinary arts at, “Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts”, and a huge shout out to my late grandmother “Ruth Ali”, who taught me the basics of how to throw down in any kitchen at a very young age , to master chef “John Kanadu”, who told me I would take the culinary world by storm, and with each and everyday that passes I am giving the chance to thrive and continue to do what I love to do, because good food is a key introduction to so many great people and lasting relationships that give me purpose.
