We had the good fortune of connecting with Antuan Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Antuan, what is the most important factor behind your success?
One word and one word only, consistency.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the editor-in-chief of a Black-owned variety publication, Apex Coture Magazine. It is a platform for entrepreneurs of all fields especially Black entrepreneurs. Unlike most publications that pervert the image of the Black diaspora, we use our resources to focus on the positives and not using the negative things about Black culture as clickbait to get clicks and views as MOST online publications do. It excites me to make relationships with people in business and bridge gaps where they’re most needed.

I got to where I am today not by having it figured out, I just don’t quit. Consistency will always win. It has not been easy and I don’t expect it to get any easier. We’re Black so we don’t get the easy road. We’re hit with every obstacle and more sabotage than any other group so for us to make any progress is a success. I’ve learned to say less and do more. There’s no need to constantly try and convince the world that you’re somebody, just be somebody. Trust me, they see you and everything you’re doing. They won’t click the like button until it’s popular to do so.

I want the world to see the intent behind what I do. Know that I am a stand-up guy and I stand on my word. So when you consume the content of my brand, you can use it as tools to build Black excellence and spread it to combat the propaganda war waged against us. I’m part of the new Black Media. We’re not here to play.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a simple man as I have done a lot in my life and doing a lot has shown me that the simple things are what matters. To me that is. I was raised and now I reside back in Orlando, Fl. and if you know anything about Orlando, you’d know we’re the world’s largest tourist city due to our theme parks and the way our city is designed for tourists. So if you’re visiting my area, you’ll have access to Universal Studios, Disney World, Sea World, International Drive, a crazy night scene, and beautiful people. I won’t have to do much lol
