We had the good fortune of connecting with Antonio Walden and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Antonio, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Being successful is a combination of preparation, execution, and consistency. I do my best to never walk into a meeting or a phone call without being prepared. I anticipate questions and needs of my clients and prepare a conversation to highlight both. Knowledge becomes wisdom only when it is applied. I can prepare all day and night but if I do not apply it; it is useless. Execution is what sets apart champions from competitors. I strive to be consistent. Consistency in communication an performance breeds confidence in my clients. That is the one thing that no other competitor can sell. Once I have the confidence of a client keeping it is the easy part.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I pride myself on being consistent, fair, passionate, and honest. I personally think in this world, and especially in business, there is a lack of truly genuine individuals. I conduct myself in every aspect with integrity. Business partners and friends alike will all testify that I am the same genuine person even in the most tense of times. I continuously study and learn to be able to be an asset and source of knowledge. NO! It has not always been easy but I value being able to look myself in the mirror and maintaining my integrity over all. I have been able to maintain my course by focusing on my reason for perusing greatness and success. At first I wanted to succeed be great, like everyone else. But then I became a father. That gave me an entirely new perspective on success and what the true definition of that word means. Along the way I have learned to say what you mean and mean what you say. When people are confident in what you tell them the product/service you represent takes a backseat. The product could be the best in the world but if the representation of it is shaky then the company, product, and sales will suffer.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta has several interesting places and plenty of great food. I personally would take my friend to visit the live music spots, The Humidor, Sweet Georgia Juke Joint, Cala Bar & Grill, City Winery. To eat we must check out Mac’s Chophouse, Elevations Chophouse, many of the rooftops here in Atlanta.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The person I am today comes from my parents, Henry Sr and Brenda Walden. They taught me dedication, hard work, loyalty, forgiveness, the power of love, the true strength of community, and how to lead even when no one is following. My circle or friends. Who stand with me when i’m up by 2 or down by 2,000,000! They support without wavering, listen without judgement, celebrate the small wins as much as the big ones, and always have a hug locked and loaded. I learned alot about myself in sales from one of the best books ever written Secrets of Great Rainmakers by Jeffrey Foxx.
