We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
The single most important decision I made that contributed to my success—beyond choosing to work for myself—was fully involving God in my journey and giving Him all the credit. For a long time, my photography business was slow. I only had a handful of shoots—mostly family and, for a while, some work with my church. Then came a season where my family was hit hard with back-to-back financial obligations: tuition, car repairs, plumbing issues, insurance, utilities—you name it. I was overwhelmed and started to question if I’d made a mistake pursuing photography full-time.

In that moment of desperation, I got on my knees and prayed. I reminded God that He had planted this passion in me and opened the door for me to pursue it. I quoted Isaiah 66:9: “Shall I bring to the time of birth, and not cause delivery?” says the Lord. “Shall I, who cause delivery, shut up the womb?” I told God I had done everything I could and that if anything was going to come from this, it had to come from Him. I promised that if He made it work, I’d give Him all the glory.

Just a few days later, I was booked for an event—and it went extremely well. When people told me my hard work was finally paying off, I was quick to correct them: it wasn’t me, it was God. That same week, I got booked again. Then again. Before I knew it, I was booked solid for four months straight, with multiple shoots a week.

That decision—to pray and give Him the credit—changed everything. It’s the foundation of my success and the reason I’m still doing what I love today.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart as a photographer is my ability to create visually moody images using dark, rich tones and strong contrasts, while capturing natural, authentic expressions. My goal isn’t just to take beautiful photos—it’s to freeze significant moments in time, to visually retell your story in a way that allows you to relive those memories and share them for generations.

What excites me most about my work is the opportunity to consistently meet people from all walks of life. Every session expands my worldview and reminds me how much of an honor it is to be trusted with someone’s most meaningful moments.

Getting to where I am today professionally hasn’t been easy. Being an entrepreneur is one of the most challenging journeys I’ve ever taken. I credit my success to God’s blessings and guidance. When things got tough, I stayed motivated through inspirational messages, practiced relentlessly, and stayed committed to learning and improving my craft.

Some key lessons I’ve learned along the way:

The best photos aren’t always technically perfect—they’re the ones that hold meaning.
Gratitude is powerful. Acknowledging God in every step of the journey keeps me grounded and focused.
What I want the world to know about my brand is this: Dryden House Photography is where timeless elegance meets intentional storytelling. With God’s blessing, anything is possible.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit for a week, I’d make sure they got the full Atlanta experience—good food, culture, and a little adrenaline too.

We’d start each morning with breakfast at SDK’s Cafe and Coffee—they’ve got that perfect mix of great food and a cozy vibe to ease into the day. For dinner, we’d hit La Costilla Grill regularly; the food is solid and the atmosphere feels like home.

For must-see spots, we’d definitely visit The World of Coca-Cola, the High Museum of Art, and The King Center—you can’t come to Atlanta and not experience that history and culture.

One of the highlights would be a trip to The Porsche Experience Center, where we’d get behind the wheel and race Porsches on their test track. It’s not your average tourist stop, and it’s a serious thrill.

We’d also make time to wander through Piedmont Park with our cameras in hand. It’s perfect for street photography, people-watching, and there’s almost always an event or pop-up happening on the weekends. It’s one of the best places to soak in the city’s creative energy.

That week would be a mix of excitement, connection, and plenty of good eats.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Without a doubt my wife, Catherine, deserves a huge amount of credit in my story. She’s been instrumental in building the foundation of Dryden House Photography. From day one, she believed in me and in what Dryden House Photography could become. She helped me register my business, built my very first website, and even connected me with a few of her friends who were getting married—those early weddings helped get the ball rolling. She held things down at home, making sure the kids were taken care of so I could focus on sharpening my skills and growing the business. Most importantly, she made it possible for me to leave my job and pursue photography full time—a decision that completely changed the trajectory of my life and business. Her belief in me has been unwavering. Honestly, Dryden House Photography wouldn’t be where it is today without her dedication, encouragement, and support. She’s not just part of the story—she’s a cornerstone of it.
