We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Lopez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I started to pursue my career as a producer when I was around 16 I’d freestyle a lot with my friends and listen to music Smoke and we’d just have fun most of my friends were mainly rapping. I kinda just did it you you know for fun just to know I’m saying have fun really but I was more into the beat side because I was like you know what I don’t really wanna rap so I’m like I might as well make beats so got into making beats and I started doing tutorials and when I first started my beast they didn’t really sound that good. when I turned around 17 I started to take music a little bit more serious. I was prospecting when I was in high school to look for different music institutions to go to. I ended up going to art institute of Atlanta for about a year and then I stopped going there that school is now closed, but that is the school that I went to and I went there for about a year 2017/2018. I will say it was pretty all right, but being older now I would’ve chosen a different institution to go to. since I started making beats, I’ve always wanted to make beats and just express my different emotions through making sounds and make music is therapy for me A lot of my beats actually have stories I think almost each one does

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What set me apart is my approach I’m very open-minded when it comes to creating and just let my mind flow Most of my beats are just canvases for my emotions that I’ve just put into sounds my bears are stories and situations with people and as I listen back to those songs, I can always remember what I was feeling to create that beat and remember those situations and all the different things that make up about the production that’s been created although I’m not a professional, I believe my mindset has a evolved to a professional level mindset because I’ve had years of trial and error I still have lots to learn I am a humble student of the craft As I am approaching more professionalism as well with more experience, I would say it’s easy it can be hard if you don’t put in the time lessons I’ve learned is never pass up connections with people even if they’re small because I’ve crossed paths with some names when I was younger that I didn’t really take the full opportunity of and I’m seeing where those connections could’ve got me because these artists are now actually charting And it’s crazy to think I cross paths with this person I want the world to know that I’m creating my own sound and y’all gone hear it ,keep God first you can never be last.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Living in Atlanta, we’re probably going to a strip club then hitting day parties with Atlanta being fast it’s easy to get into stuff through the week we’d be creating music having conversations of business and growth I’d have to hit a good Caribbean spot or Jjs my favorite caribbean spot in Atlanta is probably the Royal Caribbean bakery on memorial dr them patties be bussin

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d give recognition to my dad Anthony Lopez Senior I watched him make beats early in my childhood. I’m sure that also gave me influence on the direction. I was gonna go as I grew older because all I did was watch my dad work on his label and watch him, do production his label is called Kingdom Gate entertainment which he is the for owner of. I would also give recognition to my friend who is basically my brother his name is Colbyand he seen me grow in life and it’s one friend that’s been close by my side as I went through my creative journey and different processes as well as I like to shout out Terrel aka DonFather and we created two projects. Our first project was in 2017 and we have a project coming out in 2024. I would say music with Don made me even more interested in making music because I was building with an artist early in my production career.
