We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Clark and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I want to start of by saying thank you for taking the time to interview me, I am so honored. What made me think about starting my own business came from being raised in the treacherous streets of Zone 6 in the Edgewood and Kirkwood communities of Atlanta. Seeing my mother struggling and working two and three jobs just to provide for my brothers and I had a huge impact on who I am today and my thought process of wanting to become a successful business man and start my own business, so that my kids and extended family members could thrive in life, and I could also transfer generational wealth.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Okay, let’s talk about that. I am always working on expanding my catalog and body of work. I also work hard everyday to bring the ideas that I have in my mind to bring fruition. That keeps me extremely busy professionally. My body of work currently consist of two award winning films. Publishing and authoring 5 amazing books, and I am currently producing my third film that should be out by this summer called ” Hidden Lies ” that was written and directed by, Jordan ” Fool With The Camera” Marcel. All of these endeavor’s keep me extremely busy and were not easy to accomplish. At times I wanted to give up and quit, however God continued to provide me with the strength and tenacity to keep going so that I could complete those projects, so that he could get the glory and credit for carrying me through. In those trying times of working through the negative energy that tried to stop me. I learned to always depend on God to carry me through the storm’s of life because he is the source of all things. He is omnipotent and all powerful enough to do it, as long as we trust in him. Waking up everyday with a renewed mindset has been enough to keep me busy while trusting God. However I would like to share with the world that I am just a man from the hood who has enormous dreams and believed that somehow and someway, I would make it up out the hood someday, with the help of the most high God. So if he will do it for me then he will definitely do it for you, as long as you align yourself with his plans for your life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love hanging out in the City and exploring the new additions that gentrification has bestowed on the area that I grew up in. If my friends came in for a week the itinerary would look something like this: On Monday, we would explore the historic sites of Atlanta, such as The Martin Luther King center and museum. Tuesday, we will play a round of golf on the scenic golf course at Lake Lanier and then spend Tuesday night in the Lanier Island cabins. Wednesday, we would explore the amazing paintings and artifacts at the High Museum of arts in downtown Atlanta. Thursday, we would explore the Atlanta Beltline and all of it’s scenery while riding a bike or electric scooter. On Friday, we would have lunch at the Sundial and then dinner at the Polaris while viewing the amazing 360 degree view of the city’s skyline. Saturday, we would explore the shops at Phipps Plaza and Lenox Mall. Afterwards we would visit the new shops in the Buckhead Village shopping strip. Sunday, we will get a good word from Dr. Jamal Bryant at New Birth in Lithonia, and then after service climb the historic Stone Mountain. After climbing the mountain, I am quite sure that we will be hungry so we will eat a good soul food dinner at the infamous restaurant in Atlanta called “This Is It” to end the voyage.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank all of my supporters and fans, because without you things just wouldn’t be the same. I would also like to thank my loving mother Brenda Clark who has always been there for me through the thick and thin and made sure that she always did whatever it took for me to survive and then thrive. I would like to thank my father Anthony Clark Sr. who was there for me in the capacity that he knew how to be and showed me the tough love that I needed to become the man that I am today. My dedicated brothers Emanuel and Brian for always respecting me, encouraging me as well during my growth and development while also loving me no matter what. My loving grandmother’s Ellen and the late Earline for loving me and bestowing wisdom in my spirit and soul. My Management and partner Dana Freeman over at D Free Management. And last but not least all of my loving family members who supported me through my trials and tribulations as I endured them. Thank you and I love you all from the bottom of my heart.
