We had the good fortune of connecting with Ansley Robinson and Kaylie Munn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ansley and Kaylie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
A big factor to us when starting our business was the opportunity to become our own bosses. We wanted a direct hand in our own success, and we’ve found it easier to be motivated when having this control. This also gave us the chance to express ourselves creatively without any bounds which is what we’ve always dreamt of doing. Above all else, we wanted to achieve our goal of bringing people together. We started our business during COVID when we were all desperately needing togetherness, and that is exactly what The Best Pic provides.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Best Pic is all about forming connections. We take pride in the fact that our picnics provide the opportunity for intimate gatherings between friends and family. We’ve gotten to host wedding engagements, anniversaries, baby showers and birthday parties. The one common factor all these events have is that everyone leaves feeling more connected than before they arrived.

A unique part of The Best Pic is that all of our available themes are named after celebrities. Not just any celebrities, but strong business women. The Dolly Parton theme is perfect for the lover of all things pink, Lauren Conrad is directed to the bohemian soul, Reese Witherspoon is ideal if you’re looking to spend an afternoon in Cape Cod, and our Kim Kardashian theme is simple and elegant, perfect for a wedding proposal.

Above all else, you receive a real experience with The Best Pic. We believe in genuinity over perfection.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The best parts of Atlanta are the different neighborhoods and the character they all hold! A day could be spent exploring Cabbagetown and Inman Park. We would start with brunch at Carroll Street Cafe before exploring the neighborhood on foot. A picnic in Inman Park would follow before heading to Krog Street Market. Krog Street Market is a great place to shop to support local vendors as well as support local restaurants in the food hall. Watchmans is a great choice for dinner there with excellent cocktails and an even better ambience.

Another area that is not as popular but equally worth exploring is East Atlanta. Bellwood Coffee is a great place to grab coffee while being surrounded by beautiful plants. Midway Pub is great for an outdoor vibe on game day where as Argosy is a great place to grab drinks and food in a cozier setting. The people and businesses of East Atlanta are some of the most interesting in the city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The Best Pic wouldn’t be anything without our friends and family who have stood behind us every step of the way. When encouragement is needed, someone in our tight circle is always right there to say exactly what we need to hear. Building a business from the ground up is daunting but it is especially daunting when you don’t have anyone cheering you on.

We especially want to thank our biggest advocate, Baylee Sexton. Your continuous support and praise will never go unnoticed.
