We had the good fortune of connecting with Annie Rainwater and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Annie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always found the idea of starting a business really exciting. What I love most is being able to set my own schedule, whether it’s working hard or taking time off for family. Sure, running a business can be tough, but it’s the kind of challenge I enjoy. I get to do what I love, work with awesome brands, and steer my career wherever I want. It’s been amazing to see my business grow from doing glam for events, commercials, and brides to teaching artists from all over the world. I can’t wait to see where it goes next!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My career has been a journey of passion, perseverance, and continuous growth. I take pride in my dedication to providing exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for my clients. What I also love is the opportunity to inspire and educate others, whether through my work or by sharing my experiences.

Getting to where I am today definitely wasn’t easy. I faced challenges moving from Minnesota to Georgia navigating the competitive landscape, and the demands of entrepreneurship. However, I overcame these challenges by staying focused, building strong relationships, and constantly learning and improving my skillset.

One of the key lessons I’ve learned is the importance of resilience and adaptability. In an industry that’s always evolving, being open to new ideas and approaches is crucial. I’ve also learned the value of networking and surrounding myself with supportive individuals who uplift and inspire me.

What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I’m more than just hair and makeup—I’m are about empowering individuals to look and feel their best, while also promoting community and collaboration within the beauty industry.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If there were any openings available, I’d make sure to get a reservation at Mujō! Having experienced their service and cuisine firsthand, I can confidently say they have one of the most professional and hardworking teams around. For a fun day out, Ponce City Market is a must-visit. It has exciting events and unique shops that always offer something interesting to explore. And when it comes to enjoying the outdoors, Piedmont Park is the perfect spot. It’s great for soaking up some sun and getting fresh air! Plus, if you’ve got a pup, it’s a great place to walk them. And even if you don’t, you get to see cute puppies on walks! It’s a 10/10 from me!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my Papa. He’s been my biggest supporter all my life, always encouraging me to chase after my dreams. Papa celebrates every success, no matter how small, reminding me of the value in every achievement. He’s been the best cheerleader I could have asked for, and I know he’d be so proud to see where I am today. Papa, thank you for being my anchor and believing in me every step of the way.
