We had the good fortune of connecting with Annie Clark and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Annie, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Music and acting have always been a part of me. I remember I was about 5 or 6 years old and I would put on a red cape and run around the house like Superman or I would have one of those little guitars for kids and I would go to my brother’s room and we would listen to rock music with his friends. It’s like having an invisible force that pushes you to create and perform. It’s in my veins. I love to be on set or on stage. It’s like being at home to me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
With music, what sets me and my band apart is what we do. We do what no other cover bands do play. We are not a typical cover band; we play what others don’t. We are basically a tribute to Swedish bands like Hardcore Superstar, Crashdiet, Crazy Lixx, Confess, The Cruel Intentions etc etc. I’ve got here professionally after so many shows and keep trying and giving 100% on each show and finally we were offered to play at the big Rockfest in Wisconsin for 40,000 people. With music things do not come too easy, you have to keep the machine working and promote and always give a 1000% on each show. Lessons learned are to never give up because when less expected there comes the opportunity and always have snacks with you while on the road. There are so many hours traveling so sometimes time is tight so there’s not time to eat so you just jump right on the stage and by the time you’re done and ready to go its too late so all restaurants are closed. The world… needs to know we are an awesome band that does what no body does but the original bands. I’ve heard from our fans that no one does what we do, so I am pretty excited about that!

With acting, what sets me apart perhaps is me. I also have an accent so that is something unique as well. No actors are the same, no actors portray the same character the same because each one of us has our own life experiences that we bring to that character. I’ve got to start acting since I was a kid but getting really into it, that was just a year ago. I think it was the right time to do it so I jumped in and in just one-year I’ve already done 7 films and 3 that I have on schedule for the upcoming month. Is a non stop constant learning and discovering. Acting and singing comes easy to me, I guess I am blessed with that, but going to acting class opens up to much more in deep techniques and tips and tricks and that’s amazing! What I’ve learned during this process is to always be prepared and ready. You might never know when your agent will request an audition, no matter where you are at, be prepare to have all the tools in your toolbox and apply to these at any moment. It takes time to feel ready, acting is different than singing, so I have to stay always on top. Always learning, always ready.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hmmm Because I am so busy I don’t have much time to go out but if a friend comes in town, I guess we would go to a nice restaurant and go from there to maybe if there’s a show in town. There are sooo many good restaurants around. Maybe check Little 5 Points, that’s an interesting area. Parks. The mountains. The river. Outside malls. Depending who is visiting we would go here or there. Oh and Six Flags! That’s always fun! and I would show them where movies are made, these big sound stages. If you haven’t been in one…is huge!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My acting coaches, my classmates, my band, my family, my friends, the people with whom we have shared a stage, promoters, agents…. Many good people who have helped me in one way or another on following this dream.
