Meet Anna Shalray | Certified Holistic Health Coach & Yoga Teacher

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Shalray and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anna, what do you attribute your success to?
Surrounding myself with a supportive community while practicing intentional self care mind and body, has played an integral role in my success.
Halfway through an unplanned pregnancy that I’d just come to terms with, and truly grown excited about, complications began.
I’d always been an A+ student, overachiever, planner, ya know a real go-getter.
Whatever I set my mind to I accomplished.
As much as I wanted to have a successful pregnancy, this wasn’t one of those things that I could simply push through, work harder, do more, and win.
We tried “all the things,”
But success was no where to be found.
After enduring the loss of my daughter, my whole mindset around achievement, and what it meant to be successful, shifted to one of purpose.
We can’t always control our circumstances, or the craziness life throws our way.
Success is found in how we choose how to respond.
We have the power to rewrite the story.
I believe that it’s time we redefine success.
Success is not an end point to be arrived at one day, another box to be checked, or proof of our enoughness and worth.
Success is a lifelong pursuit of fulfilling one’s purpose.
The fulfillment of my own personal purpose comes back to the deep knowing that I am using my innate skills, talents, abilities, passion, education, and training to make a positive impact on the world.
Personally I’ve found that fulfilling one’s purpose in business, while taking care of your body well, can feel heavy, like pushing a boulder uphill.
The good news is – that weight becomes so much lighter when we gather a village to help us gain traction, and sustain our momentum.
It takes a lot of support to continuously pour from the overflow, rather than scraping the bottom of the barrel, so I surround myself daily with the same supports I offer my clients:
– quality nutrition
– empowering movement
– grounding mindfulness practices
– Community found in a tribe of empathetic people who challenge me, actively listen, and offer guidance to fill in the gaps of my understanding
By consistently refilling my cup with nourishing practices that help my body feel safe, while gathering supportive people who are thriving a few steps down this road, I’m able to find ease and joy in the journey as I continue to rewrite my own success story.

What should our readers know about your business?
My practice is built on the foundational understanding that we weren’t meant to do this alone.
As a loss and now rainbow mama, Certified Holistic Health Coach and Registered Yoga Teacher, I happen to be really great at helping women when the craziness of life affects their bodies, throwing their hormones and gut health out of whack.
Utilizing the tools of my training, and lessons learned from my lived experiences, I help women who have endured the trauma of loss or fertility challenges, move through healing preconception, and create a nourished pregnancy, postpartum season, and beyond.
This is such a vulnerable and raw time in a woman’s life that can feel completely out of control. Working together we shine a light on what’s within her control- how she responds loving to the messages from her body, about what it needs most.
I get so excited to talk about creating nourishing routines, period problems, poop, pregnancy plans, and all the joys and challenges of early motherhood, while helping her find ease in each transition through nutrition, mindfulness and movement.
Helping her get to know her body on a deeper level, and refining her nourishment personalized to the specific to her season of life, is my superpower.
It’s surprising how the smallest shifts in mindset and behavior make the biggest impact.
Thankfully, my business was already established virtually pre-pandemic, so I’ve been able to hold space for women in my Hormone Ease Women’s Health Membership Community, and in private one to one coaching. I’m really excited about bringing back all inclusive women’s wellness weekend getaways in the months to come.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned in my last 6 years doing this work, is that is not all about fixing, because at the end of the day what we all crave most is to be seen, heard, and feel safe.
That’s why asking before offering advice is one of basic ground rules in our membership community. This allows our tribe to connect deeply, actively listening, and encourage each other well.
In private sessions, I spend a lot of time asking clarifying questions to help each woman dig deeper and reflect on her next steps, in a fully supported space.
The truth is, a lot of times the answers are already right in front of us. We just need the space, to slow down and check in, paired with the guidance, and resources to demystify the roots of imbalance, and accountability around making small manageable impactful shifts.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In Atlanta, there are so many amazing places to try! If I had to narrow it down I’d go back take a friend out for Brunch at the Flying Biscuit, A walk and talk at Candler Park, followed by a show at the Fox Theatre, then top it off with Dinner and Drinks at Two Urban Licks.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
After my daughter passed away a couple hours after her birth, I felt powerless and completely out of control. Thankfully, my community surrounded me and held me up. My support system has been filled with incredible people you should check out.
Dani Jayden of Dani Jayden Photography set up a meals to keep my husband and I nourished, and fundraising to allow us time to grieve and heal. She also has given our family the gift of incredible photography to document our family’s story and growth as we welcomed our rainbow baby boy. Dani has the eye to capture your most precious moments, and the heart to meet you where you are at, so that you can truly enjoy the process.
Nurture Nashville Yoga was there to hold space for my intentional self-care through prenatal and mam-baby yoga, pelvic floor and core restorative exercise, women’s groups, and has given me a place to deepen my training in supporting other women and families in the perinatal season.
Ready Nest Counseling is the place to be for marriage and family mental health services, specializing in conception, pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, and loss.
Now I lay me down to sleep provides the priceless gift of remembrance portraits to parents experiencing the death of a baby.
