We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Dixon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anna, what do you attribute your success to?
The biggest thing for not just me, but anyone is CONSISTENCY. Consistency is definitely a key component for my business and myself. I would also say be genuine, let people see YOU in your brand, and of course love what you do and the rest will come. You don’t have to work harder just work smarter.

What should our readers know about your business?
I own a clothing boutique! We are online www.annabellessouthernboutique.com and we also have a brick and mortar store located in Birmingham, Alabama. I’ve been in the boutique business for about 8 years now and don’t plan on leaving anytime soon. Getting to where I am now not only took consistency, but also a lot of trial and error. Something people forget is it’s okay to fail or mess up. You’ve got to see what works for you and your business. Something I’m really proud of is the community of customers we’ve built over the years. Make your customers your friends! Help them shop for their special occasions, ask about their family, bottom line love people!!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Birmingham- I am a big foodie! A few of my favorite restaurants we would have to visit are Bamboo on 2nd, Blueprint, Bottega, and a Milos Hamburger is a must! As far as areas I like to frequent… Uptown has awesome drinks and it’s right across from the Protective Stadium (go blazers!). Followed by a night out in the Lakeview district to bar hop!

Atlanta- I visit Atlanta 7-8 times per year for market. There isn’t a ton of time for play, but we do have a few things we enjoy.
Favorite Hotel- The American
Favorite Bar- Meehans
Favorite Restaurant- Amalfi

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
MY MOM! She is my biggest fan, my voice of reason, she definitely keeps me going. My mom, Susie Lawley use to have her own boutique when I was little. I went to work with her and I ran that shop like it was my own. Hahaha not really, but I thought I did. I think that’s where my love for clothes, shoes, and jewelry came from.
