We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Britting Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anna, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
It’s funny actually, I’ve been pretty averse to taking risks most of my life- I love the feeling of my comfort zone. In life I’d say that hasn’t really changed, I love schedule and safety and routine and organization (hence the business I’m in) but, in business risk taking has been everything. Even starting The Britting Group was such a risk for me. I had no idea if anyone would see the value in what I was doing, if I was even capable to be a business owner. Since then, theres been more risk taking than maybe anything else. Every business decision feels like a risk. I opted to rebrand the company amidst the pandemic, which felt like the biggest risk for me in recent memory. It felt like such a strange time to be pouring money and time and energy into a business that was essentially on hold- but it’s already paid off tremendously! We’ve been busier than ever!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The Britting Group began as a sincere desire to help the families I work with reclaim their lives and time. And I am so proud that we have continued to honor that vision over the years. We have grown to be a real force in the Atlanta Area providing a team of quality service providers- from a handyman to a chef prepared meal delivery service and a photographer. What differentiates us is not just the quality of our team, but the passion and care we bring to our clients. As the owner of TBG as well as the lead organizer and project manager, I have a very intimate job. I have the gift of nearly 15 years of in home experience to help assist, guide, and love my clients into the space of their dreams. We work alongside our clients to let go of the things in their space that no longer serve them, and allow them to grow towards where they want to be. I watch their shoulders fall as years of clutter and unfinished to-do lists begin to be addressed. I am part organizer, part therapist, part coach, part mover, and part teacher. I absolutely love what I do.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love this city. Born and raised in Atlanta, I’ve always loved it. I love going to any of the local art and music festivals, Atlanta United games, Piedmont Park and The Beltline. My husband and I love going to Bone Garden Cantina and grabbing wings at some of our favorite places around town. We also love to get out on Lake Allatoona and taking a day trip to drive up to the North Georgia mountains and do some hiking. Atlanta is a great place to get out and explore, there’s nearly always something going on that will highlight the beauty and excitement of such a culturally diverse city.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have been so blessed with unbelievable support and guidance through the last 2.5 years of business ownership. My mom (my number one entrepreneurship hero and general guiding light) has always called it a “personal board of directors.” Without question, I wouldn’t have started TBG or be where I am years later without the endless love and support of my family and friends. I have an amazing tribe of people around me who believe in me even when I don’t, give me constructive feedback, and encouraging me on my successes. I could sing my husband’s praises all day long. He has supported me and watched as TBG grew from an idea to a startup to a real business- always cheering me on around every turn. Erin Gendron, my business coach, has consistently provided me with truthful and insightful direction. Nicole Anderson, my marketing guru has continuously taught me so much about trusting my instincts and belief in my self and vision. However, perhaps most important is the amazing team of folks that have grown up around me to form the TBG family- both clients and service providers (I see you Chef Calvin Rouse & Handyman David Torres), bringing the Britting Group vision to life each and every day.
