We had the good fortune of connecting with Ann Tran and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ann, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factors behind the success of my brand, are God, my integrity and knowledge. God, has guided me into my purpose which has allowed me to bless others to find confidence in their insecurities. Beauty is not all about vanity, it stems from self love and how you treat and talk to yourself. At MOB we define ourselves as I Am My Own Beauty. In the beauty industry there is so much saturation. Social media also plays a factor because of all the trends. My integrity has showcased my passion that I have for all my clients and students. It doesn’t matter if you’ve known you for 5 minutes or 5 years, the quality of my work will always be my best. My knowledge is an absolute blessing. Through all the stages of my career, I’ve obtained so much knowledge of experience, circumstances, legalities, clarity, and customer service skills. Being seasoned in this industry and sharing my testimonies with others has help me succeed in so many areas of my life. Sharing my knowledge with others and helping them succeed without the same errors I’ve gone through is a true blessing!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My Own Beauty is a brand that stands for I Am My Own Beauty, MOB! This means you don’t need the world or validation from anyone in society to prove how beautiful you are. You don’t have to conform to any beauty standards, to love and be yourself! As entrepreneurs we all know that it has its challenges and hardships. What got me through it was honestly giving my life to God. The power of prayer and faith! There will be so many circumstances that are out of your control and you truly have to accept the fact that you have to adjust and pivot each time. Allowing God to guide me along my path has granted me so much purpose, clarity and fulfillment.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of my favorite places in the city are visiting the Chattahoochee River. There are so many spaces along the banks that have beautiful views and also give you an opportunity to get in! I am also an extreme foodie! Definitely have to eat at Egyu revolving sushi and bbq, 9292, 404, and Kabob Land. These are some absolute staples in Atlanta that are moderately priced with amazing food!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would have to say my biggest supporters would be my family, and my mentor! First, my parents for allowing me to start my business in their basement and allowing me to grow into a brand by servicing my clients. An extension of my family are my friends, which are my family! They’ve allowed me to practice on them, and have been so supportive throughout my journey. One of my favorite people in the world, Ms. Uk my mentor! Wow, this lady is a true gift from God. She is one of the kindest supportive, loving, humble people I know. She educated me on everything I needed to know to become an Aesthetician and a good Christian while doing so! Without her, cheering me on, listening to my struggles, and believing in me when I didn’t myself I have no clue how far I would be.
