We had the good fortune of connecting with Ann B and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ann, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my own business was primarily to uplift women. I wanted women to experience self-love again, owning there sexuality and being comfortable with expressing it, via lingerie. I wanted to provide a safe space for women of all shapes, sizes, different walks of life color and creed.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

Naughtyish Lingerie was created during the Pandemic, a time where people were losing businesses, jobs and unexpected death. So when I initially started the lingerie business, it was about making money, as I was temporarily furloughed from my job and the unexpected death of my daughter’s father. Once I started selling lingerie and the clientele who were purchasing my products, the stories behind there experience, what it meant to them and how it made them feel when they made a purchase. I had an epiphany and realized the monetary gain was not the most essential. I’m actually making changes in these women’s lives, by adding spice to there relationship or providing a confidence boost. This made me elated that I was able to assist women in what is sometimes needed, but never addressed. I owe the success of Naughtyish Lingerie by staying consistent, positive, letting the universe guide me in the right direction and trusting the process. It has been a difficult road for me as a woman, my self confidence exposed a lot of women’s insecurities, but I was tested dealing with vendors and photographers, but I got through the pivotal moments which has made me stronger, built character and created a more business savvy approach.
During this new business venture I learned that, when you are moving towards your purpose you will be tested with road blocks along the way, but if you strive and pull through, it will only make you a stronger entrepreneur. I want the Universe to know that no matter what, you have the capacity to do what you want if you put your mind to it, trust the process, have faith, remain humble and grateful. Everything else will fall in line. Keep in mind, when conducting business, have a purpose to serve by changing lives, providing innovative experiences and the monetary influx will follow. The income is good, but while serving a purpose in your business clientele retention and providing a memorable experience will provide business longevity.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

The Atlanta night life has a lot to offer.
I’m an introvert/extrovert, but I know how to have a good time, especially with visitors coming into town. The weekend line up would be The Suite Lounge for a Friday night experience and a Saturday brunch at the Atlanta Breakfast Club. Sunday is a great day to shop, which is my favorite, relax and take in a good winery. Any weekday visitors Atlanta has tons of things to do so it depends on your preference of activities.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give credit and recognition to my children. They have been supportive through this entire business endeavor.
