We had the good fortune of connecting with Anique Harvey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anique, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
Business is Business and should be treated as such. When it comes to family, friends or associates, there must be a line drawn between personal and business. It is so common for relationships to be destroyed because there weren’t any boundaries put in place around separating your personal from your business.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Alexia Experience is a full service wedding and event planning company that provides you an unforgettable experience and exceptional service. We set ourselves apart because we put a special intention on getting to know our clients so their wedding or event can truly reflect them.

Consistency and discipline has gotten me to where I am today.

It has definitely been a journey to where I am today. It has never has been easy, but what is worth having if it came easy? You want a perfect body, you have to workout. You want that high paying position at a Fortune 500, you have to get your degree(s) and accolades. As I grow and scale my business, I’ve excepted that I will always have to put in the work in order to get to the next level. What’s most important is when things feel like it’s too hard, you can’t give up. If you give up, you won’t be able to see what’s on the other side.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Great thing is that I love a good time and great experience! I would highly recommend Food:
Breakfast: Toast of Lenox (be sure to make a reservation!)
Lunch: Fletcher’s (absolute best wings!)
Dinner: Nakato’s (Love a good Hibachi experience)

Night Out:
Bar Vegan
James Room

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, God has kept me on this journey for 5+ years. As I learn, grow & elevate, God has continuously blessed my business and that I’m forever grateful for. Second would be my life partner, Trae has been a pivotal person in this entrepreneurship journey. His constant motivation, advice and love has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone in business and reminds me that I am the best at what I do.
