We had the good fortune of connecting with Angie Webb and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I think I always knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur. I greatly enjoy building things, so while the act of creating images for my clients is always very fun and fascinating, I’m just as excited and intrigued by all the things that go into building the business itself. There’s nothing like charting a course and over time seeing all the pieces come together.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Photography started as a high school hobby from there and quickly bloomed into a passion. By the time I was a junior in college I had a full-fledged business going and was driving from my college town into the city on weekends to do photography gigs. I didn’t major in photography in school, but in my mind photography was always the direction I was going career-wise. After a brief stint in corporate America, I was able to go full time with my business in 2014 and have never looked back.

The road to get here certainly wasn’t easy. In the field of photography there are so many people vying for clients, and there’s always new trends to keep up with and things to learn. Comparison can be a tough trap, and overworking is common. It’s taken time but I’m slowly learning each day the importance of running my own race and giving my best effort everyday and letting that be enough.

I would want people to know that for me this business is very personal. It’s hard to think of anything else I’d rather be doing, so when a client hires me they are truly investing in something very important to me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Since I am primarily a food photographer, I get asked a lot about recommendations for restaurants! No trip to Atlanta is complete without a stroll along the Beltline with stops along the way for some tasty libations and bites! My favorite food neighborhood is the Westside of Atlanta–the Bikini at Cooks and Soldiers and the hummus at Aziza are a must! My favorite thing to do is find new places more off the beaten path and exploring all the interesting finds at Buford Highway Farmer’s Market. But truthfully, as I’m a suburban girl myself, you’re more likely to find me OTP at some of my favorite places. I enjoy walking by the Chattahoochee on the Greenway, checking out the farmer’s market in Downtown Alpharetta, and visiting some of my favorite eateries closer to this neck of the woods which would include Valor Coffee, Foundation Social Eatery, South Main Kitchen, and Fellows Cafe.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d dedicate my shoutout to my parents. My dad is an extremely hard worker who taught me the importance of accountability and integrity, and my mom is an extremely creative and talented artist. I think that my career is the result of these pieces of them coming together in me, and it’s definitely where I attribute my success.
