We had the good fortune of connecting with ANGIE B and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi ANGIE, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Authenticity is paramount to me, especially in the realms of entrepreneurship & the music industry. Staying true to myself allows me to navigate these dynamic environments with integrity & purpose. In a world filled with trends and external expectations, authenticity becomes a guiding principle. It shapes all of my creative endeavors & fosters genuine connections in business. Being authentic empowers me to bring a unique perspective to the table, ultimately contributing to a more meaningful & impactful journey in both entrepreneurship & the music industry. I firmly believe that when you do good and remain authentic, blessings follow, creating a path where genuine efforts & commitment to realness align with positive outcomes in the face of challenges & opportunities.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
About three years ago, I entered the industry amidst the Covid pandemic and the aftermath of Breonna Taylor’s death in Louisville. During active protests, my husband tragically died of a heart attack in my arms, forcing me to resign due to emotional toll. The protests, however, gave birth to the close-knit BREEWAYY FAMILY. During one of our outings, I met an artist who needed support. As he transitioned to a label, my commitment drew the attention of the initially skeptical label owner. Despite the unconventional dynamic of being a woman in a male-dominated industry, trust gradually developed within the label, though building trust with individual artists remains a challenge.

This journey has been filled with hardships, moments of doubt, and unexpected calls that pulled me back. It has taught me to avoid hasty judgments, acknowledging everyone’s unique story. A significant connection was made with JRock The Label, the CEO, who had recently lost his son RIH Rockstar 💫. Our bond went beyond professional matters when JRock supported my youngest son, who was considering quitting football. Although my son eventually left the sport, my appreciation for JRock endures, showing that blood is not always thicker than water. Since then I have been nominated for KUEAWARDS, CEO of R.I.C.H. (Realize I Create Happiness) Entertainment & A&R for Empire. AXL Rich & Live Life Sosa two of the founders of Area502 Production Complex have joined forces with R.I.C.H. Entertainment as top executives on the label. We can’t wait to see the impact the label has on our city.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Nulu, in the eastern part of our downtown, is full of hidden gems. Bardstown is a notable attraction, and must-visit spots include Joe’s Palm Room, Hill Street Lounge, Dasha Barbours and The Grúv. The Louisville Slugger Museum, Louisville Bats, Lou City Soccer Team, & none other than the GOAT – The Muhammad Ali Museum are also highlights. Our newest museum, Roots 101, recently added a “Static Major” banner and exhibit. If you want to experience “Derby City” you have to take a quick stop at Churchill Downs, Whiskey Row, Black Jokey Lounge & if you like gambling Derby City Gaming. We are a college city, home to the University of Louisville with its newly renovated campus. Catch Cardinals games at the KFC Yum! Center, & don’t miss a visit to 4th Street Live while out on the town..

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I extend my sincere gratitude to the club owners, promoters, and DJs in the City of Louisville for their unwavering support. Special appreciation goes to JRockTheLabel, BHEN ENT, De$TINED4GREATNESS, & RichRoyalty Cash Gettaz Ent, who have served as remarkable influences and mentors. I am truly thankful for their guidance. In addition, I would like to express my gratitude to Sensei Nowa for his continuous support. Together, we initiated the KY Chapter of The Hip-Hop Fraternity (HHFKENTUCKY), successfully establishing Hip-Hop as a recognized holiday in our state; further details about HHF can be found at www.thehiphopfraternity.com. Throughout my journey, various individuals have played pivotal roles in connecting me with artists and executives. Notable mentions include Bone The Mac, T-Rell, Drama G Tha Chief, Q-Bizz & Ken Ivy aka Pimpin Ken are just a few whom I have had the privilege of maintaining ongoing professional relationships.
