We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Lightsey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Hosting yoga retreats fosters a sense of community by bringing women together to share a common interest. When we return back to our “normal” lives, we have a sense of how our energies impact the world around us. Tybee Wellness Retreats, Nomad & La Luna Luz all collaborate with local wellness practitioners to boost our craft as well as bring awareness to our shared goals.

I also incorporate charitable components such as sitting on the board of our local Tybee Arts Association and helping to fundraise for Savannah CASA and other local non-profits.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Creating events and space for personal expansion required a vast amount of creative energy and dedication. To keep our experiences fresh, I am constantly learning about all the of the modalities that we offer and participating in new programs whenever possible. Since our inception, the wellness industry on Tybee and Savannah has become more diverse and options for people to participate are plentiful! There is room for all of us here. We all have a common goal to support others through their journeys with awareness.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend coming to Tybee for the weekend, we would definitely be on the beach by the North Beach jetties soaking up the sun and sand. We would take a tour of the Lighthouse and climb to the top for the best views of the island. We may book a stand up paddle board or kayak adventure. And, of course, we would practice yoga on the beach. We would schedule massage with my practitioners from Nomad. We would eat at Sale Island, Mi Vida, Zunizibar & Huc-A-Poos.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a HUGE shoutout to my Mom. She is the most badass woman I know. She has encouraged me to grow my business and give endless emotional support to both myself and my daughter.
