We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela House and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I first started my own two businesses, my thought process was the autonomy of being an entrepreneur and building a legacy. Though, I hold an Associate’s degree in Allied Health Science, Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and a Master’s in Human Resources Management, and worked in Corporate America for over 10 years, I’ve later decided to start my own businesses. While working for others, I recognized my own talent of being my own boss, therefore, I started with my trucking business, Heavy Traffic Express, while assisting truck drivers with work and aid them in starting their transportation company. As I continues to learn the trucking industry, I pursued training to obtain knowledge about Freight Brokering. After I completed training, I obtained my license through FMCSA which led me to open and operate my second business a Freight Brokerage Company, Heavy Traffic Logistics. Heavy Traffic Logistics assists shippers move their freight around the world by connecting experience Carries to move the freight. However, being in business for myself allows me to help others become knowledgeable about the logistics industry by providing training to aspiring brokers and freight dispatchers. Nonetheless, building a business is like riding the waves until the water is settled. It’s tough going through the challenges, but the end results is very well rewarding.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Heavy Traffic Express provides a superior level of service when it comes to trucking and freight transportation services. We provide multiple transportation modes by Dry Van, Refrigerated Shipping, Flatbed, Truckload, Less than Truckload (TL), and Specialized Freight.

Heavy Traffic Logistics provides real-time quotes to shippers on freight. I treat my customers like family and care for their freight like it’s my own. I have a great Carrier base that  picks  up and deliver my customers freight on time, and safely.

What sets my companies apart is the personal connections built with my customers treating them like family and their products as if it was my own.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend visiting Atlanta, we would visit C&S Seafood and Oyster Bar first because the food is delicious!!! Afterwards, we’ll go to Truist Park to enjoy the outdoor festivities, Top Golf, and the W Hotel for the rooftop experience of Atlanta nightlife with food and drinks.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

First, my mother Maxine House who passed away a week after my birthday in February, 2021. Whenever we’ve discussed business-related topics, she always say stay prayerful, remain humble, and know that whatever is good doesn’t come easy. Those are the words I keep in mind and heart.

Additionally, I would like to Shoutout to Juanita Harrison with GraceforPurpose who has designed my training manuals for both of my companies. She is an amazing person with great patients. For all the questions I’ve asked, Juanita remained professional and very helpful. I would recommend her writing service to anyone.

Lastly, Melissa Riley owner of Missy Tees. She made a few of my companies T-shirts and did such an amazing job. She is a super sweet lady with a great personality. I would recommend anyone to Melissa to make custom Tees.
