We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Fedrick-Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angela, what principle do you value most?
I value integrity because it is the building blocks for trust, positive relationships and success. Having integrity also helps to set clear boundaries and eliminates distractions that compromise what a person or brand represents.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As an inspirational artist, writer and entrepreneur, I am most proud of the recent collaborations and relationships developed from following my passions. I have learned that one’s gifts will definitely make room for you and it is important to live and operate in your uniqueness to contribute meaningfully in this world. I have been able to experience various successes in my professional journey because of staying open to learning and growing. I believe that iron sharpens iron and the power in surrounding yourself with people and places that encourages and nourishes your creativity and vision. The greatest challenge is taking the first step to go for what you envision. In regards to media, I understand that sex, gossip and scandal sells. I have worked in multiple media platforms and have found that my most fulfilling moments was using media to uplift others. This is the vision from which my company Mojo Media Online LLC was birthed. The challenge of doing the unpopular thing was overcome by my drive to leave a positive impact for others. I desire to offer long-term benefits, rather than promoting momentary entertainment and satisfaction in the form of blogs, articles and music. I want people to know that I strive to move in integrity and anything I produce as an entrepreneur and artist is not only a brand, but an extension of who I am as a person.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take my friend to the iconic Varsity restaurant in Atlanta, as it is a staple in Atlanta and a place that brings nostalgia from my childhood memories. We would visit the AUC center (Atlanta University and College Center) where I went to one of the greatest HBCU’s, Clark Atlanta University. We would visit Underground Atlanta, get some soul-food from the Historic Paschal’s restaurant and go skating at the Black-owned Cascade Family Skating Rink in my old stomping grounds.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate my shout out to my late father Willie Fedrick, Sr. who demonstrated the power in entrepreneurship and my mother Ann Richardson for all her love and support throughout the years.
