We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Dorsey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was a way of helping others without using medication. I have disabled twins and one of my twins has cerebral palsy and can’t currently walk. His muscle tone is high and massages really help him relax and use his fine motel skills. I love helping people and I believe that relaxation, rejuvenation, self-care, self-confidence and self-love are the main keys to a happy, healthy and revived life.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We got started in this industry out of a passion for helping others. We wanted to find a way to empower individuals inside and out. We feel as though self-confidence plays a major role in whatever you are doing or aspiring to do. We discovered a way to help individuals internally and externally, and we ran with it. We got to where we are today by taking the initiative to listen to our client’s stories and utilize them to expand our services and the desired services of our clients. We are also inspired by family, friends, and loved ones who have been gracious enough to share their needs and suggestions in order to enhance our business.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First we would stop and eat and drink at Pappadeaux, we would visit a beautiful body of water, we would hang out at my house because that is the safest place to be and we can choose whatever we want to do for fun with no restrictions and we don’t have to worry about driving home. Of course, we would top it all of with visiting Body Blessings Health and Wellness Spa for some relaxation and rejuvenation.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a massive shoutout to God. Without God, none of this would have been possible. Of course, I have to shoutout all of our clients and supporters. I would also like to give a shoutout to myself for staying the course and never giving up or giving in no matter what! My family gets a shout as well for encouraging and giving me the motivation and drive to live life on purpose. Big shoutout to my great grandmother “Bessie Mae Jackson” for being my best friend and helping me to begin operating in my purpose (Rest In Peace). A huge shoutout goes out to all staff members for being dedicated hard workers.
