We had the good fortune of connecting with Angel Riley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angel, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?

There are three habits that I feel help me succeed.

1. Praying and meditating when I first wake up. Spending quiet time when I first wake up sets a positive tone for my day. My preference is to read the daily story in the Bible app, followed by the bible plan I chose for the period. The app allows me to focus my prayers as well as stay consistent.

2. Writing down my goals. It doesn’t have to be the perfect elaborate plan, just enough for me know what I want to accomplish. There’s a saying that once you write something down, it becomes real. To give it a biblical reference, write the vision plain and clear (paraphrased from Habakkuk 2:2).

3. Be selective about who you share your goals and dreams with. It’s amazing how quickly someone can discourage you whether it is intentional or not.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

I am the founder and CEO of Destined for Greatness, a coaching and development company. Most know me as Coach Angel Riley, the mindset and success coach.

I became an entrepreneur because there was always an unexplainable void in my life. It started with me becoming a dance fitness instructor. That evolved into me managing a direct sales business, which really allowed me to get a true taste of entrepreneurship. When I walked away from my six-figure corporate job after a reorganization, it made sense to become a full-time entrepreneur.

I released many unsuccessful products and projects as well as many outrageously successful projects. I made a lot of moves with hesitation and too many moves being overconfident. But the challenges I experienced were necessary for my growth, creativity, and to become the best version of myself. Without struggle, there is no progress.

Lessons I learned along the way include:

1. Never stop learning. You may be experienced in your area of expertise but there is always something to learn. Your newly gained knowledge may be a gamechanger in achieving your goals.

2. God gave YOU the vision. I heard on another platform “the vision God gave you was not a conference call.” Everyone does not have the same excitement and foresight as you. It is essential to eliminate the distractions, not always share your blueprint, or “bounce an idea off” of too many people.

3. Do not be afraid to invest in yourself. Of course, you want your business to grow. Personal development is business growth.

4. Make self-care a priority. YOU HAVE TO TAKE A BREAK!

Destined for Greatness is growing because we are committed to helping our clients deepen their relationship with the four pulses of their destiny: faith, love, finance, and career.

We offer group coaching, one-on-one coaching, digital courses, and training seminars. The goal is to create innovative strategies that promote growth and excellence in all we serve. At Destined for Greatness, we believe…

You are the heartbeat of your destiny!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

While I don’t reside in Atlanta, I visit often. My first stop is ALWAYS Pappadeux. I know it is a chain restaurant and Atlanta has several fine dining establishments, I just love the ambiance and most importantly, the food.

I defer to the Atlanta residents for hotspot recommendations. Once my belly is full from Pappadeux, I retreat back to the office or hotel to work. If my friends are available, we always find a great place to create memories.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

Where do I begin {smile}

First, I shout out my professional organization Women in Government Relations (WGR). I did not see it at the time, but the more than a decade I spent in leadership positions helped me to grow personally and professionally.

Second, I shout out to my mom. She always supports me, even when she does not understand what I am doing.

Lastly, I shout out everyone in my network who speak life into my goals with their encouraging words, engage with me on social media, recommend me for opportunities, and so much more. THANK YOU!!!
