We had the good fortune of connecting with Angel Michelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angel, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
My degree is in early childhood education and I mentored and taught for many years. Through teaching I developed the idea to host the Angel’s Play 2Learn Workshop however, I ultimately love planning and executing events. I obtained an event planner certification several years ago and my end goal is to own and operate an event center for my children’s play 2 learn workshops, monthly/ private events, and pop up shops. Sadly, due to Coronavirus my business took a major hit but I am confident that everything will be back up and running soon, and better than before!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Angels Play 2Learn Workshop is dedicated to the enrichment and leadership development of young princesses in the greater Atlanta area. The workshops are fun, engaging, and extremely rewarding. I often say, nothing worth having comes easy, so no it hasn’t been a walk in the park, and things are still constantly changing due to the pandemic. Sometimes we expect to see instant results but it really requires a great deal of consistency and hard work to get a business up and running. It may even require some flexibility and versatility. Don’t get discouraged though, I think optimism is extremely important as well as determination. For me, the only way I overcome any obstacle in life is thru prayer and obedience to God. I want the lord to be involved in all my endeavors because I feel that will aid in my overall success. I just want the world to know that I’m very passionate about our youth and hope to be the driving force behind some significant changes in the near future.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a social butterfly and Atlanta became my home because of all the cool attractions, restaurants, and fun things to do. We’d definitely have to visit Two Urban Liks and the beltline, Skyview and a horseride downtown, perhaps a nice picnic at Piedmont park, tacos and tequila on the patio of Tin lizzys, if available, the High Museum offers nice events periodically, otherwise live bands play all over the city and of course a Sunday brunch at Old Vinings Inn or perhaps South City Kitchen would be lovely.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m a single mother so it can get overwhelming trying to manage a business, be a parent, work, and maintain a social life. Despite my chaotic calendar, I have an amazing little sidekick rooting me on everyday therefore its only fair that my 8 year old daughter A’va gets a shout out because she’s truly my biggest supporter and fan! She encourages me more than she’ll ever know and I’m beyond thankful to be her mommy.
