We had the good fortune of connecting with Angel Dust and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angel, how do you think about risk?
I think risk is good. It’s good because all while you’re betting on yourself, investing into something you’re passionate about, or quoting that job to pursue your dreams, it’s the unknown that keeps you going. You never know if something is going to work out, however you go through serious character building moments which bring forth the change needed to suit whatever it is that you’re aspiring to be. Taking risks has done so much for my life and career. It has gotten me shows to perform at. Opportunities to write for others in the industry. To create and sing with talented people. It revealed to me the type of woman I am, how optimistic and motivated I am and how inspiring I am to others.

You never know what you’re capable until you go for it. Even if you found out whatever it is you were pursuing no longer has your best interest, at least you went for it, learned and can then apply your self accordingly.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is my singing and writing abilities. I set the mood that’ll have you “be”according to the song and words that can be heard. That is what I know that sets me a part from a lot of artists. I am a vibe. I am a mood. I am an influence. However I’m feeling, you’ll feel. I’m addictive, I’m melodic and smooth I really adore these things about my artistry.

Where I am today is not my final destination however a stop along the way to being successful. If I didn’t take the huge risk of presenting myself to the world 5 years ago I wouldn’t be where I am standing today. All it takes is for you fo believe in yourself to gain notoriety and recognition wherever you are you know?

Being that I am still on my journey I have to acknowledge the bumps in the road I’ve encountered and has contributed to my growth as an artist. It’s not an easy road to maneuver through especially In the music industry, okay. Being receptive to change, critical feedback and views other than your own has helped me get through all that I needed to grow through.

Lessons I’ve learned thus far is “you’re not alone.” We all have a fear of letting people too close to you for valid reasons. At some point in life, we have to become secure in ourselves and open to allow ourselves to be helped. We can make it to where we want to be by ourselves, yes. We can make a bigger and better impact with people who shares common interest in themselves and you. Open up!

My music is my brand. My words are my brand. The way I include my personal life in an equal dosage with my music is my brand as well. I love the thoughts of serving as a relatable artist who is able to touch hearts of many in hopes of them not feeling a lone, left out or too out of place to fit in. You’ll love it over here, I promise!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First we’re going to go to the best Mediterranean spot downtown, Bon Appetít. Then to Townhall to drink and dance for a little bit then hang out down on Coventry by B-side! My favorite place to be at is anywhere where Mother Nature blesses the environment. I love museums, you’ll definitely find a lot of interesting things and people there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout out to my manager, Kelvin “Deuce” Rice for seeing me and taking this journey with me!
