Meet Andrew & Amber Vassell | Co-Owners of Sweet Peas Play

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrew & Amber Vassell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrew & Amber, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Three things: Freedom – Having control over our time was a major factor for us.
Ownership – Not relying on an employer for income
Wealth – Unlimited earning potential in the world of Entrepreneurship

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
It all started in 2015 after Andrew proposed to Amber and they began planning their wedding together. Amber was the creative genius and Andrew was the numbers guys with all the spreadsheets. Together, they were able to plan and execute the wedding of their dreams. From that point, they decided that they would eventually combine their skills to create a business together.

A few months after their honeymoon, they were presented with an opportunity to join a travel agency. They started a business called “Cupid Travelers” which was catered to couples and more specifically, engaged couples. They were excited about the opportunity but the timing just wasn’t right. Eventually they moved on and explored the AirBNB property rental business. Dynasty Rental Properties was the name they came up with for the new business venture but ultimately, it didn’t last long and things fizzled out.

It wasn’t until October of 2018 when Co-Founder, Amber Vassell, was pregnant with their first child, Avery. As she anticipated the arrival of her new baby, she was faced with the sad reality that there weren’t many clean, safe and fun options suitable for babies and toddlers. She decided to fill that void by creating a mobile soft play company.

See, Amber owned a mobile gymnastics company, Back 2 Basics Gymnastics Academy, from 2013-2020 so from that experience, she birthed this new genius idea of mobile play for toddlers. When she presented the idea to Andrew, he was instantly on board. This was a completely new business concept and it seemed like the perfect business to pursue.

So Amber, who at the time was six months pregnant, was sitting on her living room couch ordering the play equipment. She wasn’t going to allow her pregnancy to stop her from getting this idea off the ground.

Sweet Peas Play is a Soft Play Company that provides mobile playgrounds for kids 5 and under. Our mobility allows us to bring the fun to a location of your choosing. The play equipment can be setup indoor or outdoor so whether it’s a home, backyard, park or recreation center, we can setup just about anywhere. Our mobile play play pods include things such as: ball pits, toddler roller coasters, bumpers cars, bounce houses…the list goes on. We specialize is birthday parties, play dates and other special events.
