We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrea, how do you think about risk?
Risk: a situation involving exposure to danger

Risk in lamest terms to me, is taking a chance at something that you might not thought could’ve been possible. Every day we face challenges that we don’t feel is apart of every- day life. Although, our life is already outlined and planned, most people feel that there is so much more to offer when you actually take risk.

My life has not gone as planned as much as I would have hope for; nevertheless i never allow my current situations to overpower my thoughts for the future.I am a resident from the state of MS and at times the odds, have always felt stacked against me. Physical surroundings do effect time, at one point I remember I could not get my clientele to be consistent. One day I would do two, the next I might do one, the next few days, it might not be any; Nevertheless i still chose to promote myself everyday. Taking risk has always been apart of my plan, from being inconsistent to consistent- I ran soft specials for different installs every other day, just to make ends meet, which at the time seemed comfortable because clientele was increasing. I allowed myself to take multiple risk, because I knew the reward would be greater. I reached a point where I decided to take my business else where- another risk. I have been servicing clients ten years now and I am only 24. I relocated to GA, to build more clientele. Strange, because I didn’t know a single person here, but my vision board that I made as a child included this state, which amazes me; because I’m rebuilding clientele slowly but surely. Networking has been my best option and top priority because this state has a broader audience for exposure. Risk do not always have a great ending. Sometimes, what’s on the other side may not be so good for you; but you shouldn’t let that discourage you. If I did not take any risk pertaining to my business; I wouldn’t be where I am today. I now service, two states and the plan to increase is yet another risk, that I might not be ready for, but because I know I have come this far- truthfully taking risk has been the highlight of my career.

Thank you for this opportunity.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others is my ability to provide growth along with professional advice per client. Truthfully, getting them to understand it is not about the money is usually where the problem lies. That is the difference between other stylist and me . I provide quality work , for a reasonable price “ quality over quantity “ has always been my motto. I’m most proud of the growth for my business, I have met so many people; with different status. Networking has been the key. Getting to where I am today , wasn’t easy , nobody gives you the blueprint on how risk for your business wether good or bad is all apart of the process. This transition from state to state hasn’t been easy. Questionable doubt is not my strong suit , so everyday I give it my all. If there was anything I could teach, as far as the lessons I have learned – stay consistent, keep posting via social media, and providing high customer service skills. I want the world to know that I will not give up on them , I need to believe what I am saying is all facts, there are good days and bad days; most people use that as a reflect from monetary value, but your role as a stylist is so much more. You are a friend , stylist , counselor, supporter , most importantly know that you are needed no matter where your location is.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I was to provide an itinerary of all the places to visit in my city, it would go like this

Monday – we could visit the black history museum locally in the city
Tuesday – would include a day of food and fun we have a trampoline park, bowling alley, and skating rink as far as options to choose
My favorite places to eat are Chesterfields, halfshell, moviestar, hibachi , and Chinese

Which is what most of the options here consist of

Nostalgia is a local lounge here that offers hookah and great vibes , definitely a good place to surround yourself with hardworking people looking for a good time which is what we could do towards the end of this week long trip

There’s isn’t really much to visit here locally, because MS is considered a retirement state , so most of the outside activities aren’t that exciting.
