We had the good fortune of connecting with Andre Osborne and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andre, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
When I was single balance wasn’t a concern. The goal was success or money. When I got married, I was fortunate to work with my spouse so if I’m busy at work there wasn’t a lot of explaining to do. It meant that we were busy. Now that we have children my motto about achieving success is “I’m willing to sacrifice everything but my family and my overall health.” To be successful you need a hierarchy in your mind. You want to have work life balance like you want to win the lottery. Your chances of winning are the same if you ask me as an entrepreneur. When I first married my father told me “Son, love doesn’t pay bills”. He was always there when it counted and I make sure unless its unavoidable I’m there putting my kids to bed, attending school events, taking them to practices and to school every day no matter how late any event I attended the night before.

What should our readers know about your business?
I live by two fundamental principles to the success of our business to survive turbulent market headwinds and maximize opportunity. The first is if you don’t have a dollar to your name, you have your word and a handshake. Second, be smart enough to know what you don’t know. Our clients appreciate that. Because of my father-in-law’s history in the industry we were able to create a footprint in Atlanta and compete against industry businesses with deeper pockets but can’t beat our customer service.

In 2018, the brand Alex Lexington was built from the ashes of an industry downturn and the loss of a team member. Being known as a person and business of integrity that clients trust their lifesavings, family heirlooms, and business assets with is our mission.

Most of our industry works on trust. People hand you their metals in various forms which are high value commodities worth thousands of dollars or payment and we deliver on that trade.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I always tell people that I’m the old married guy with kids. So, all the places I go to are date night spots where you can walk and hold hands with that special someone or caters to the 10 and under crowd.  But here goes, Friday night at the High Museum with music, Ponce City Market’s food court or the rooftop. A referral to a fireside chat at The Gathering Spot during the week. Defy or Skyzone, which are indoor trampoline parks. The Vine Club in the West End is usually invitation only also but call and ask for Taylor. He might let you in. Roller skating at Golden Glide or Cascade during the day if you have littles and at night if you know what I mean. Lastly if you want to be a boss come to Alex Lexington Diamonds to get a private consultation with my wife Danielle or order gold bricks from Alex Lexington

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Shout out is to my father and father-in-law. My dad was a teacher before he came to this country and when he got here with a duffle bag in the 70’s he became a plumber by trade. My work ethic, fundamental principles, and integrity come from my dad. He got his point across one way or another whether I wanted to accept it or not. My other dad, my father-in-law taught me the skills for a trade that all the money in the world can’t buy your way into. The precious metals, diamond, coins and bullion industries are spaces where you need “special” referrals, and million-dollar deals are done on a handshake. He walked me into rooms with no windows and changed my life to be able to provide for our family and continue his legacy.
