We had the good fortune of connecting with Andi Byers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andi, how does your business help the community?
Chronic & Iconic Coaching provides a safe space for all women to be cared for, seen and heard. My business was founded to create a safe space for women to thrive. I created the space that I wish I had while navigating my chronic illness and autoimmune journey. The Chronic & Iconic mission is to uplift, motivate and encourage women to thrive and fulfill their true purpose.

The chronic illness and autoimmune community is large yet very publicly underrepresented. I aim to show the world and community that chronically ill people can still do the hard things, we just learn to do them differently. I help women all over the world choose themselves everyday without feeling guilty, by changing their mindset from “I wish” to I will, accepting the reality of “what is” vs “I can’t”, and releasing the trauma of diagnosis so that they can truly walk a path that fulfills them rather than depletes them.

What should our readers know about your business?
This journey has not been easy for me. As a RN with over 16 years of experience, I understand that when you meet one patient or client, you done just that….you’ve met one patient or client. As my chronic illnesses started to manifest, I noticed that lack of support for the chronic illness community. I was treated horribly by medical providers, constantly gaslit, made to feel as if my symptoms were all in my head and over-medicated for years which came with it’s own set of side effects. I wanted to change the narrative on how people view chronic illness. God moved me to create the space that I needed early in my journey so that other warriors had a safe place to heal. Chronic illness is hard! It can be isolating and it’s very easy to find yourself in a dark space. The most impactful lesson I’ve learned is that it is ok for me to choose me and prioritize my health and healing so that I can better help others along their journey.. Self-care is not selfish, it is a necessity and for me it is a huge part of my healthcare.

I appreciate the simple things and delicious foods. We would definitely hit up the aquarium. It’s so calming and therapeutic. I am also a big foodie so we would hit up all of the hidden spots but I always like to choose new places and try new things.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
