We had the good fortune of connecting with Anasiah Clark and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anasiah, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
My end goal would definitely be for my daughter and I to have our own store that is located throughout different cities and towns. I want people to look at our store, and be the first place that they walk in to; a business that they can say that helped them with their skin and lip care for sure. I want my daughter and I to be known as the most successful & richest black mother and daughter duo of cosmetics in history. To show my mini me that she can do anything that she puts her mind too.

What should our readers know about your business?
Our business is called Glossy By Autumn, which is a cosmetic line. What sets me apart from others would be having a daughter as a business partner. We make the best mother and daughter duo ever. I will say that I am completely proud of myself by taking the risk and stepping out on faith to make this business/dream come true. I am excited each time we expand by adding more products. I got to where I am at today with motivation and faith. I have been working since I was 16, these past three years I have been working 8-5 with only weekends off along with being a full time parent. I knew then it was time for a change. I wanted for free time, I got tired of working for others, and I wanted to be able to bond with my daughter more. So far it has been easy, as entrepreneurs we tend to run into a few bumps and holes along the way, my only difficult part of it all was not being confident. I doubted myself a lot in the very beginning. I have learned to be patient, stay encouraged, and motivated throughout it all. I want the world to know that we will NOT give up, one day our business will be located in multiple cities. We have products for all ages.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If one of my best friends were to visit the city, the first place we would try to go would definitely be some type of museum. Like a culture museum, we would definitely have to go to various shopping places of course, and some nice fun lounges, along with a spa place as well. When I am out of town I like to try different restaurants that I haven’t before, so that would be my first choice for my best friend, find a restaurant that’s different and unique that we are not used too. Maybe a Jamaican spot to eat, as far as drinks we could definitely go to different places for those. I like to be around fun and exciting people that are up for a good time, no drama, just pure fun. I am all for lounges, and places that play great music with great food.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My daughter would definitely be one of the persons that gets recognition. We are a TEAM, she is my business partner. This business is name after her. She keeps me going and motivated. My parents are also someone that I would love to give recognition too. Since I was at the age of 7 they both were business owners. With the help, love, and support of them they have completely motivated me. They were showing me all about entrepreneurship before I even could understand exactly what it was.
